Hey guys,

I am looking to upgrade my spotter in a big way(I have Redfield right now). I have sorta narrowed down my likes to the Gold Ring HD or the USO Field Observation Scope.

My uses for the scope are pretty vast. I will be using it for target shooting with my buddies and calling holds, but I also want to use it when I am out hunting to glass critters and see if they are worth my time chasing.

The FFP reticle I'm somewhat torn on, it would be really nice for target shooting, but might get in the way when I'm looking at a critter on the hunt.

Right now most important things on my list are optical clarity and durability.

Any input you guys can give would be great.

Leupold all the way. The USO is just too cumbersome to use. Its just a scope without the knobs. You have to adjust parallax up from on the objective and clarity is poor. The only thing it has going for itself is different reticles. Had one a few years ago and sold it. Still have my Leupold Mk4. Like the Leupold because its compact and lite. I just picked up the Vortex Razor with the ranging reticle and that's pretty well all I use now.
