is anyone using "lighter" projectiles in their 6.5 CM bolt guns? I'm looking at 95gr v-max and maybe some of the 100's from Hornady for coyotes at 500 and closer. I've got a few pounds of IMR 4895 and the Hodgden load data indicates that it's a good powder for lighter projectiles.

On a completely different note, anybody tried the Hornady 130 ELD M's?

Thanks in advance and God bless America.

How have the 140 class projectiles worked for you with IMR 4895? Or IMR 4451, Superformance, or H414? I have all these already, and Hodgden says they do well with the lighter fodder. Now if the 140's, or 130's, work with IMR 4895, this day's getting better. Also, I only have about 3# of H4350 left, so I'm looking for possible replacements. Cheaper replacements.

I asked about Hornady because they're around $35 per hundred at many places, whereas the Bergers are around $50 per hundred. I fully understand that you get what you pay for, but right now, I don't think the Hornady projectiles would be holding me back. Seems like there's a few guys who fininsh in the money who shoot Hornady. Plus I'm cheap.

Frank recommended 130's for 6.5CM on his review of the Detroit Rifleworks barreled action. I think he was using Norma golden target; I haven't found anyone who likes it. That said, his rationale on the 130's makes sense - heavy enough for visible impact or splash but light enough to go fast. FWIW, my barrel is 24". Just trying to be all I can be while being as cheap as I can be.

Thanks and God bless America.
