Unicorn blood and orphan tears. What's everybody's preferred lube for the MWS ? I mostly use Lucas gun oil or just CLP.
I have some white lithium grease mixed with some moly, would that be good on the high wear areas ?Unicorn blood and orphan tears.
I use Lucas oil too. Slip2000, any other live I've accumulated. I do use grease on all the heavy wear surfaces though. Cam pin, bolt pads, gas rings. Oil everything else.

I have nothing scientific but between the fingers I feel it's got a slicker and "stickier" feeling than most others. I feel like when I put it somewhere it won't get shot out in a few rounds.Same. Slip 2000 has been my go to
While not exactly 14.5in, my factory 13.5in SS barrel shoots Federal GMM 168's at 2415 and GMM 175's at 2337. As long as I get my wind right, it's surprisingly accurate out to 1000-1100 yards.Might be a little lazy here but...
For those who have cut their 16" 308 barrels to 14.5 what has been the velocity drop you've seen? Pre and post fps? And down range accuracy changes at the 700-900 mark?
It doesnt fall off as much as I thought. My 16" runs FGMM 168s at 2456. Figure a 14.5 should roughly run 2435ish, fairly negligible. Thinking of having my 16" cut down and pin/welded at 14.5 or whatever it would take to hit 16" with my muzzle device. While not exactly 14.5in, my factory 13.5in SS barrel shoots Federal GMM 168's at 2415 and GMM 175's at 2337. If you're considering cutting it down for the looks, 14.5 likely won't look much different than a 16 on standard MWS handguards and it's tying you to a specific muzzle device/suppressor. My 13.5 has just a bit of exposed barrel, however, it's also SBR'd.It doesnt fall off as much as I thought. My 16" runs FGMM 168s at 2456. Figure a 14.5 should roughly run 2435ish, fairly negligible. less for looks, more for loosing as much length as I can without going SBR and without sacrificing too much. Really setting mine up as a "do all" rifle. Its been hunting with me and with a 1-8 lpvo shorter would be nice for a bit of close up fun. Less of an issue unsuppressed but add on a 5" suppressor and I can feel the 1.5" saved. If you're considering cutting it down for the looks, 14.5 likely won't look much different than a 16 on standard MWS handguards and it's tying you to a specific muzzle device/suppressor. I have. Well not quite 16” but chopped my 18” SS to 17 with a Seekins Select AGB. Dwilson did the work it shoots fantastic and is extremely softHas anyone chopped a rifle-gassed 18" .308 barrel down to 16"? After selling off my 13.5" blaster SBR (RIP, miss her so), I'm putting together a new MARS-H to eat through the metric ton of .308 I have. The rifle will have a Surefire 762 Mini on it, so I want to keep it short. But a rifle gas system is appealing.
Unfortunately no i think I’ve gotta go to something besides an H3. It’s perfect right now for 3:30 ejection pattern with the can. I opened it up till i nearly loss the detent out of the lever for the select adjustable trying to get it to cycle without the can. This is shooting AAC 175.How does that two position gas block work out in the suppressed and unsuppressed setting? Pretty spot on?
Yessir. Tbh not sure who dimpled it but got it second hand unfired.is that a dimpled barrel? who make, where find?
anyone running g CF Barrels and how are they performing (as good as can be expected or meh trash?)
Quite possibly done by Nefarious Arms…
I’ll keep ya postedI always wondered about those and how they could nail the exact gas setting for all different kinds of cartridges, ammo, barrel lengths, and dwell.
Id be interested to hear if you are able to suss it out with an H1 or H2.
I’ve found that most of us get into suppressors seeking the highest degree of suppression. The most quiet can. After some suppressor ownership we trend toward lighter and shorter with a “hearing safe” focus. 140db limit’ish. My suggestion would be to skip to the end. Light, short, 140db’ish.Hello,
I was looking to get a suppressor for my LMT MARS 7.62 gun (16" CL). I did a quick scan over this thread before posting this looking for anyone running a B&T suppressor but didn't find mention of one. Admittedly I certainly could have missed it though.
In any case, anyone running a B&T Can with success? I am intrigued by the Rotex (Print X) 7.62 Full Size and the SRBS 7.62 units that B&T offers but I'm not married to them just yet.
The voices in my head keep saying to just go with a known good unit like the Surefire 7.62RC2 (which I have already tested on this gun with no issues) but I would still love to hear any experience, good or bad, with the B&T's on this gun.
Thanks in advance

I’d say that’s very true for semi autos. The best suppression generally leads to the most headaches when trying to properly gas the gun or swapping ammo.I’ve found that most of us get into suppressors seeking the highest degree of suppression. The noise from the ejection port should be taken into account as well. You’re only going to get the decibels down so much
I have a Dominus on a 16" 308. I've been pretty happy with it for the most part. The gun gassed easily, the suppression is impressive, it has run impeccably .... but it's just gassy. No headaches, it's just gassy. For me, the options to weigh are how much increased sound are you willing to tolerate to offset the gas. If you're shooting more slow fire like a precision rifle the gas isn't a problem, it's when you're shooting a VTAC barricade and ripping off rounds quickly with the ejection port in close confines to the ground redirecting the gas back into your face.
Just talking out ofmy semi educated ass here but suppression wise between a 300 and a 762 surefire will be insignificant if any difference at all. If recall correctlythe 300 has baffles for more back pressure so it will help makea 300blk that is minimally gassed run with subsonic just fine. Thanks all for the information.
I think I am going to take a pass on the B&T's and stick with the Surefire line for my rifles. I may lean on B&T for a pistol Can in the future though.
Now onto my next struggle.
Anyone running a Surefire 300SPS on an 7.62 MWS with success (16" or longer barrel)? I hear its pretty rough in terms of increased back pressure but I also have a 9" .300blk gun (and a .300 WIn Mag Bolt Gun) I am looking to supress as well. Preferably to Hollywood levels of quiet, at least for the .300blk gun...
I wont complain if I can kill two birds (or more) with one stone if possible but not if it will sacrifice reliability of my MWS. Do I have 5lbs buffer weights and 400lb buffer spring rates in my future or is it not that bad for anyone who has run such a combo on their MWS?
Would love to hear more
I ran a 7.62 Mini2 on the old 13.5. Wasn't Hollywood quiet (of course), but I didn't feel the need to wear ear pro when blasting at pigs. That same can will go on the 16" .308 barrel I got from the LMT Black Friday sale.Just talking out ofmy semi educated ass here but suppression wise between a 300 and a 762 surefire will be insignificant if any difference at all. I've been suppressor hunting lately also and the mws will be it's primary host. Leaving towards the 762 mini2 myself.
It be like that. I did the same. Found a new carrier off ARF and waited for a bolt to come in stock at titan defense.I could not find a complete fa lmt bcg anywhere. So i pieced one together. Full-Auto .308 Bolt Carrier from the lmt sale. The only place that had a bolt (in stock) was titan defense.
Well I just did exactly this. Now need to figure out which of Slash's buffers to get. With a 16" barrel, carbine gas, and a Surefire 762Mini I'd guess the XH buffer and rifle spring. It be like that. I did the same. Found a new carrier off ARF and waited for a bolt to come in stock at titan defense.
Try it with the original H3 and spring first. It works. I tried one of his buffers years ago. Turned my MWS into a single shot.Well I just did exactly this. I only ran some 150 sst Fiocchi through mine but the XH buffer and rifle spring worked flawlessly with the 16” CL barrel I haveWell I just did exactly this. 16” barrel in 15.5” handguard?
Yes. Fits the can like a glove. That 1-6 and RH25 is from my 11.5" 300BLK mounted as a mock up. I had visions of running after pigs with this, but it's heavy! I think I'll embrace the thicc and get a real scope for it. Probably a Razor 4.5-27.16” barrel in 15.5” handguard?
Very nice, great pattern and color scheme… and I still love me some Picatinny.I brought my MWS into work the other day to post it up for sale. It just wasn't exciting me anymore.
Somehow I ended up buying a used Elcan 1.5-6 and now it's like a new rifle.
I have a problem.
