Greetings.

I am looking for some input from users who have had experience loading the 185 Lapua Scenar in 308Win, 26" brl and 1/10 twist. I´ve had mixed results with this bullet, but as of today I got 1500 bullets dirt cheap, really really cheap. I only shoot moly coated bullets and about 500 of the scenars are already coated.

I´ve mostly used lapua D46, 168SMK and 167Scenar. I prefer heavy bullets due to very windy scenarios where I shoot.

But.... the only powders I have access to are Vihtavuori N140, N540, N150 and N550 wich are suitable for this bullet/cartridge weight.

Although I haven't loaded the 185, I have used factory Lapua 185 in a 26" 1-10 308. It shoots very well. I do have a VV manual that shows a max load of N550 at 46.4 for 2536. This was with Lapua cases and a 24" 1-12 barrel. Start a little low and work up. Hope this helps.............Where do you shoot?

LC brass, prepped, 210Ms, Savage LE2b 1:10" twist, Redding 335" bushing.

And I'm just a hack.

Thanks. Like I said, I´ve had mixed results but most loads were 0,5 moa or thereabout. The COAL seems to play the most important part, only a few hundreds offset will show deviation far apart. Looks like a good seater die might be in order. Any reccomendations?

For 308, I just use the Redding neck/FL bushing dies and a body die for shoulder bumps.

For seating, I'm using a Hornady New Dimension 'partially' inline seater with micro seating stem. I use the stem on 223, 22-250, 308 and 338LM, although I have a Foster Micro Seater for the 338LM. The stems are 40 tpi and I can get things easily dialed in.

When money permits, I'll go Redding MicroSeaters for those calibers, as I have one for 7 RemMag and I've used my buddy's for 260 Rem and they are pretty slick, but spendy$$$.

The Hornadys are fine for now.
