I'm pretty sure the AR10 uses a gas tube that is .240" longer than the AR15 tubes but was wondering if anyone had a drawing? I need to get some made and would like to have the correct lengths and bend location(if any) before ordering.

    Thanks ya'll.

AR-10 as in ARMALITE or any other pattern? I've built many .308 AR's as in the DPMS/SR-25/M110 ect pattern they all used the standard AR-15 gas tube. I used the rifle length (20") tube. I don't know of any "longer tube" Looking in Brownell's I can't seem to find any reference to a ARMALITE specific gas tube.

Using my rifle length AR15 tube, I have 15-1/8" OAL. The issue is I don't have a .308 gas gun or tube to go by, from reading and searching the AR10 gas tube is a little longer to go further into the BCG's gas key as the AR15 doesn't go quite far enough.

The OAL on an Armalite AR-10, rifle-length gas tube is 15-1/2", while their AR-10 "carbine" tubes (actually more of a mid-length) are 12-1/16" in OAL.

In comparison, a standard AR-15 rifle-length gas tube is 15-3/16" in OAL, so it will be over 1/4" too short to operate correctly on an Armalite-pattern rifle/barrel.

I do NOT have a blueprint that I can find, but if you want to "order" one and then have it spec'd, see here:

Thanks. Looks like there are different tubes for different pattern barrels, for .308 style gas guns?

Only with respect to the same old, Armalite AR-10 vs. DPMS LR-308/KAC/Etc. rifles/parts/patterns/etc. The DPMS LR-308 style rifles all use AR-15-length gas tubes while the Armalites use the slightly longer tubes which Armalite found to offer better functioning, reliability, etc., etc. over the shorter tubes in their testing.

If you are going to be running a DPMS-pattern rifle, then any rifle-length AR-15 tube will get the job done for you without the need for any "one-off" parts.

Just what I needed to know, since I already have AR15 tubes, I will stick with those..

    Thanks
