I have an acquaintance who recently moved here to Indiana and wants to shoot his .50BMG Barret at 1000yds and beyond. Unfortunately Indiana is not a good location to do this and I have been asked to find a suitable range where he could shoot his rifle(s). He has access to an airplane and wants to fly somewhere to shoot on Nov 23rd & 24th.

If anyone knows of a decent facility, preferably with steel targets, in the midwest I would appreciate whatever info you might provide with regard to the name, location, distances available, membership or facility fees, etc..

TIA

you dont need facilities in Colorado. We shoot .50 not 1 mile from my house. Actually we shot a State .50 this saturday. Pawnee grasslands (ours was private land). basically all over Northern Colorado and Wyoming.

Kind of late I realize, but maybe better late than never???

Long Range & Extreme Long Range spoken here at this facility. We primarily operate in the area of unknown distance field shooting applications. The facility is roughly 3000 acres in land mass, which gives us the room for heavy class rifles to engage targets at 1+ miles...
We can also offer instruction over and above "just a place to shoot" a heavy class rifle.

Here are some pictures taken by a couple shooters that attended the May event:

Another course record was established in May 2009, the shooter only missed 8 shots out of 75 possible. On top of that he and his spotter ran the course in 1 hour 48 minutes to determine realistic times the course of fire could be completed.
