Ive got a CZ 452 Varmint in 22 Mag that im seriously considering putting a can on. Anybody have a similar set up and what do you think of it? Im also unsure of what kinda can to get. Theres a Hide member that sells the Tactical Innovations Suppressor close to me. These cans appear to be very well built. Any experience with these? I have a smith that can thread the end of my BBL so i can just screw the can on. I dont need a break for a heave BBL 22 Mag so that seems like the most practical way to go. Anything else a guy should know or think about before buying his first one? Thanks guys!

Re: Looking into buying my first can.

I went with a Yankee Hill Machine 22SS Mite for my .22's and my .17HRM There are some good .22 cans out there...just make sure you get one that in .22mag rated.

Get the 22 mag threaded and then get the local dealer to let you run a few rounds through the can. If he won't let you look for another dealer.

Re: Looking into buying my first can.

SilencerCo Sparrow. The newest "stainless" version handles 5.7x28, which is far more powerful than 22 mag.

Plus is comes apart with axial shell movement, which is far easier than vertically pushing soldered baffles out of a tube...

Everyone I know who's bought a 22lr can, and then played with the silencerco sparrow later kicked themselves for wasting money on their original can. Easy of cleaning far outweighs fanboy-ism, and name clout.

KY338 nailed it here, great can, super quiet, rated for full auto, multiple calibers, and easily disassembled for cleaning. I just soak mine in Vinegar and Baking Soda overnight, toothbrush the sludge off the baffles, dry it out, and a squirt of WD40 and your golden.

Re: Looking into buying my first can.

I own a Spectre and it works great in .22 LR. .22 mag,,not so good in a Ruger 10/22 mag. havent tried a bolt or lever in 22 mag yet

Re: Looking into buying my first can.

I have a Tactical Innovations Tac 65 and a Thunderbeast Arms 22L. The Tac 65 is a good can for the money. It was only $200 when I bought it. It has good suppression. The Tac 65 is only 22lr rated so that is all I have shot through it, I cannot comment on the suppression of their 22mag cans.

The Thunderbeast is more money but better performing. (By far my favorite of the two) It is lighter and quieter. Definitely a noticeable difference to the ear. Also I shoot it a lot on pistols and it is smaller diameter and allows me to see the standard sights. Plus it has the benefit of being multi cal.

Re: Looking into buying my first can.

If I was going to leave it on a rifle and not a pistol, id try to get a 556 can, it may cost a little more, but will also handle a 223, my aac 7.62sd is also just as quiet on my .22 as any dedicated .22 can that I have ever heard, and anything from a .17 all the way up to a 300wm can be shot through one of these, and one can can cover all the calibers in between if you go that route, and one stamp is all you need
