The primers are probably dead, there are several different ways to do it, soak them in oil or you can set them off from the rear and sometimes they will not crater. Even if they were live it wouldn't matter, they create a very small spark when set off, espacially being epoxied into a bolt handle. </div></div>
I made a similar one - I submerged the primer in a cup of water and used a pick to pull out the anvil and scrape the compound out then seated it in the case.
