LR260 pet loads?

Re: LR260 pet loads?

142SMK/43.8 H-4350, L-W 28" 1:8" Savage 10FP. I use the 142 instead of the 139 because the 139 generates more pressure in my rifle, and the 142's accuracy is comparable and adequate.

Re: LR260 pet loads?

139gr Scenars with 47.8grs H4831sc in my Lawton 260 with a 1:8.5 twist at 2890 fps. Load averages under 2" at 500yds and 4" at 800 for 5 shots. 140gr A-maxs shoot about the same. Tired H4350 and it did crazy things.

Re: LR260 pet loads?

My H4831sc loads are condensed loads H4350 are not. That could be the difference.

With H4350 I got 2825 fps with no signs of pressure. The next day at the range I was checking drop data and had to almost beat the bolt up on several rounds. Crazy thing is that it was 30 degrees cooler.

Re: LR260 pet loads?

I use 47.5 H4831sc in my AI 260 Bartlein barrel chambered by Gap using Lpaua 139 velocity is 2880. It is the most accurate round of any I have shot. So good that I have kept the target in my wallet.

Re: LR260 pet loads?

Out of my LR260, my pet load is 35.0 grains of RL15 in a resized Winchester .308 case using RCBS dies, Federal Gold Medal Large Rifle Primer and Sierra 140 grain Match King Bullet.

It is easy on the barrel, sub half MOA capable and supersonic at my altitude (about 4,200 Feet) to 1200 yards.

All of my DPMS autos love RL15 over Varget and 4350SC. IMR4064 works well out of LR308 to replicate GMM 168 loads.
