I need a dual purpose optic....patrol rifle/ sniper team security/ perimeter coverage.

This looks like a good option. The reticle resembles that of an Eotech, which I like, but it is etched into the glass. There is no need to turn anything on, while quickly deploying out of my patrol car. However, there is an option to illuminate the reticle if the need arises. I would run it on !x until I needed the magnification.

Any experience with this optic? Thoughts appreciated....

The VX3 adjustment dial canot be reset to zero. Leupold only gives a cheap metal ring as a "pointer" reference. The Mark 4 SPR model has better dials.
