Magnum, or Ultra Magnum action for .300 PRC?

Stumbled across a source for M700 actions- which of these two has feed rails best suited for the PRC?

Magnum. 300prc uses magnum bolt face, same as 300 win mag

I believe the only difference is actually in the magazine box.

As Steel Head said, the only difference between the two is the magazine box. The Ultra Magnum is wider by 0.015 to 0.020" for ADL and BDL style internal mag wells. If you are planning to use a detachable magazine, ether one will work in less it's going to be a ADL/BDL build, then I would go with the Ultra Mag action.

Also, on the detachable magazine, you will need to go with the 3.850" for a longer COAL, so make sure the chassis/stock can handle the length needed.

Not sure as yet whether I'm going to use a DBM or internal- so sounds like the Ultra will leave options open.

I use DBM 300wm CIP length for 300prc. Accurate mags 300wm 3.850" CIP magazines works for 300 prc with no lip adjustments.
