I've got a deal to buy an all steel Magnum Research Baby Eagle 9mm with a 4in barrel with 2 15mags for only $440 shipped and its brand newfrom a dealer! It also comes with a lifetime warranty aside of the 1yr warranty from Magnum Research. As for the SIG I've found it for $406 shipped but it does have a lifetime warranty through SIG and only has 1 10rnd mag.

I'm thinking i'm going to buy the Baby eagle because it's all steeli think will last forever and reviews are pretty good. The SIG also has great reviews but is only mean to last until 2022. What are your usage testimonials between the 2 from real life experience.

Also this will be a weapon that WON'T be carried on my side just in the car for protection(but lets not go into the whole shooting from a car issue not in this thread at least) I will also see very frequent trips to the range at least once a month

Re: Magnum Research Baby Eagle vs SIG SP2022

I would take the Sig 2022 personally. I really like that gun. I personally prefer the polymer version of the baby eagle over the steel. Just feels better. But that's personal opinion. I love the look of the baby eagle but I have heard a few stories of them jamming and having de-cocker issues. Nice gun, but the sig edges it out in quality from what I gather. I have just a little experience with them both (I don't own either). Just my $.02, nice choice either way

Re: Magnum Research Baby Eagle vs SIG SP2022

My limited experience with the baby eagles is not good...which surprises me, being that EAA witnesses seem to run great - and they're both CZ75 clones.

Are these just two guns you've come across that have struck your fancy, or have you decided you WILL get one of these? The reason I ask is because I think your money is better spent elsewhere, between these two choices.

If you really really like the BE, maybe consider an EAA Witness (Tanfoglio). They are a LOT of gun for the money.

Re: Magnum Research Baby Eagle vs SIG SP2022

I did look at the EAA as well as th CZ 75 and these guns do look great i'm really impresed by the looks of these 2 guns.I already own a 1911 and am wanting something just a bit smaller. Also both of these weapons are used by police and millitary all over the world so the quality and reliability should be fine for me. Thats my main reasoning to these 2 selectoins also price is a huge factor otherwise I'd just buy a SIG 226

Re: Magnum Research Baby Eagle vs SIG SP2022

Today I went into gunsmoke a local shop and they had both a baby eagle(actually they have san original jericoh 941) and a SP2022. I held the baby eagle first then when I held the SP2022 I was really disappointed on how the SIG felt. Very top heavy and I felt its grips just felt unsatisfying where as the baby eagle just fit like a perfect match. So my new baby eagle was ordered and will be here monday
