Looking at buying a Jeep and had a thought: Jeep has made several special edition Wranglers, I'd like to see a Magpul edition. Not even sure I'd buy one because I'm so tacticool I don't have to advertise it. ;)

Doesn't have to be over the top, just offer it in Magpul exterior colors like FDE and OD and put a the Magpul logo embossed on the dash and headrests. Could have the seat upholstery textured with the same rib pattern as the AR mags and iPhone cases(I think that would be bitchin').

For as many people that bought the MW3 models I think a Magpul version would sell more than those. I see enough non-gun people with Magpul cases on their phones to make me think this could work.

I could foresee them not wanting to make an AR parts manufacturer a business partner for whatever reason but fuggit I say.

Business image semantics and what-ifs aside, anybody think this is a cool idea? Too campy?

Wouldnt the fuel tank be limited to ten gallons in many states?

Here are the problems I see:

Doc fees go up by $10 for the damn 4473.

Would have to make sure you can drive it in other states

Some areas would not allow you to park in a garage

Damn sure could not get it in auto

No mufflers unless you pay another 200

Is it a short truck or a big car? Makes a difference on how old you can be to drive it

Can come in any color as long as it NOT black

Selling it used could be a hassle because of the used car loop hole

Can't drop your kids off at school or play grounds

Why do you NEED that?

And besides, it says in the constitution that you can only have horse and buggy. You know, right below where health care is a right and government shall outlaw Christian religions.

Why not just make you own personalization/ customizations to make the jeep what you want? There are so many aftermarket parts out there that there are no two the same except 100% factory.

Personally I think a magpul jeep would be awesome but at the same time as much as I'd want to buy one I wouldn't because I don't like to advertise I'm a gun owner follow me home.

Stop wondering if you should wait for a special edition and go get a jeep today!!
Just got my doors off this weekend. It's nice being part owner of a jeep shop/ bumper manufacturer.

I wish we didn't have to worry about people looking at you the wrong way for publicly supporting gun companies or theives picking up clues like gun/parts stickers on vehicles. Otherwise I would be down for a sweet black and red magpul edition JKU.

They could make the back specific for firearms storage/transportation for range trips. Integrated pelican case sections or mag slots and more. Hah well maybe not everyone would want that.

Magpul is already busy with another wheeled vehicle project:

RONIN

I love my jeep, it is a 98 tj, 4 cylinder... with 198000 miles on it. It is beat up, slow, noisy, A/C broke several years ago but I love it....lol

That's a cool ride What mods did you do to it?

Oh boy we did a lot.

I am a part owner of a Jeep bumper/ slider manufacturing company with my father so the front/rear bumper-tire carrier and sliders are our RPMFAB products.
We also do full builds so a couple other mods are:
3.5'' Rock Krawler Long Arm kit
Rock Krawler shocks
37'' MTR's on 17'' XD addicts
Winch hidden in the front bumper
Poison Spyder Aluminum flat fenders
Rancho Tube doors in that pic
spiderweb shade top and skins for the tube doors
couple other small things here and there to clean it up

Just got my 20'' light bar and will be working on fabricating some mounting brackets this week to set it up on the front bumper.

I don't really care for special editions, I would rather buy a sport model and customize it myself that way it's different than anyone elses jeep.

Walked in Thursday to order a 2015 Wrangler and left driving this instead, the test drive did me in. Been listening to a lot of classic rock this week, go figure:

I suppose my old F350 will have to handle any future 4WD needs till this is paid off.

That's friggin sweet man. I do miss driving fast in the mustang but can't drive to the desert with a bunch of targets in the back.

Here's my Magpul edition, all pieced together. The best way.

I will try to get pics of mine posted tomorrow. It's a 2012 unlimited that's bare bones, it doesn't even have power windows or locks. I installed a 2 1/2" lift, new wheels with 33" tires, took it to a shop and had 4.56 gears installed with Detroit tru-tracs front and rear. I haven't decided whether I'm going to mod it some more or sell it to get a truck. I miss having a truck.
