Manners gone dark

I gave up after leaving multiple voicemails and emails last week.

I placed an online order for a ready-to-ship stock the previous week. I didn't get an email confirmation so after a day or two I called. No answer, as usual. Then I realized I had created an account as part of placing the order so I logged in. Order canceled - no comms whatsoever.

So I emailed and finally got a response that the stock I ordered had already been sold. After a couple of emails back&forth, I was sent an invoice for a different ready-to-ship stock - but there was no mechanism for paying the invoice. No way I was going to just send a check and nobody answered the phone to take a CC number. So, more emails, more voicemails, no response. O, and the invoiced "order" did not and has not showed up under my account.

I'm done. Not sure what has happened, but the ball has been in their court for several days and as far as I can see it's just sitting there unnoticed.

I won't speak poorly because I have always had a great customer experience with them, but... I have placed 8 orders around January this year and I have 3 new and 1 RMA still stuck in the system somewhere. I know they were "updating" their backend system (and website) in the July timeframe, but something seems wrong now. I have not heard from them in a couple weeks like their phone and email system is down. Perhaps they are in mid-process of getting acquired or something like that, but if that is the case due diligence is going to uncover some unhappy sales pipeline :(
 
Has anyone been in contact with manners recently? They are normally really good on comms but I haven’t been able to get ahold of them for a week or two now.
Hi Jeff, Just saw your post, I’ll shoot you a pm with my cell. I don’t have great access to are system till tomorrow am when I’m in the shop. I was able to see where office was in communication with you 7-21 and 7-23 about your lrh that took a hit. Also see i a voice mail you left today at 430. I get with office in the am and get more details. Text me your cell I’ll give you a buzz and get you squared away asap. Thank you sir

Hi just saw your post. I will shoot you a pm with my cell number. Please text me yours and I will give you buzz. I would to find out what issues you are having and get you squared away. Office should be answers emails and calls with a day. We work very hard on customer support and would like to find out were the ball was dropped so we can correct. Thank you
 
@tmanners thank you for your DM. I will respond to it with my contact info and then touch base with you tomorrow (Wednesday) morning via text so we can figure out what happened.

I've been fortunate for several years to have @Rob01 as a match buddy and mentor (and fellow cat daddy). It's his showing me his Manners stocks that persuaded me to try one. Manners Composite Stocks has a commendable reputation, so I figured that something has disrupted normal flow of business because multiple voicemails/emails were not returned. I just saw no sense in sending any more emails/voicemails.

If I somehow screwed something up on my end, I'll own it loudly and publicly.

Before I contact you tomorrow morning, I will construct a trackable timeline of emails and voicemails so we can get this sorted.

Got in the office this morning and tried to track down details. Looks like over the years we have had tons of email exchanges, and you are a long-time customer.
Looks like between 6-21 and 7-22 you and the office exchanged about 8 emails about the LRH stock that took a hard sided impact. On 8-4 looks like there was email asking for a stock update on three other orders, I did not see an email back to you. Office should have followed up with, they did not it is getting addressed today. They did how ever put those three on fast track on the 8-8 and should be good to go end of next week. I will have office reach out to you on those today i think one was a lefty. The return LRH stock for service repair got logged into the shop 8-13, hit the mill room on 8-15 and got back into the finish the same day. I got hands on today, it is looking great, the fill material and the seam at the very tip of the stock was repaired and still carries a 100% lifetime warranty. Like we do on all stocks that make their way back to us, it will get a complete refinish and should be able to get out of here this Friday. I was able to find that you had left a voicemail on 8-18 at 1230 and one on 8-19 at 430. The office did not return your voice mail yet from the 8-18 voicemail.

Guys like always we because of your support we are slammed, especially with the new projects that we have been pushing thru production, we actually have a new hunting stock that will be released next week that is amazing. The office should be getting back to everyone with in 48 hours if you do not get response, please DM me here on the hide, it might take me a day to get back or call the office and tell them you need to speak to me direct, I will get back to you asap. It certainly appears that the logjam is breaking as I got a call this morning. My transaction has been completed and my stock should ship today. I did send Mr. Manners a timeline (with time stamps where appropriate) of my contacts with MCS.

Any company can have a process/comms breakdown or make a mistake. It's the response that matters. @tmanners got word about issues customers are having, stepped in, and action was taken immediately. Can't ask for more than that.

I'm looking forward to trying out my new stock. I've been a loyal MDT chassis guy for years; I'm still a cheerleader for them and love my ACCs - but I want to try a completely different type of stock. It's all @Rob01 's doing - he showed me a couple of his rifles in Manners stocks and here we are.

In my email from 8/15 I inquired about when they’ll ship since I paid in full and have a hunt coming up in early sept that I’m hoping to have this stock for. Order # MCS-98697 and 98698.

I received my stock this morning. While overnighting it to me is very much appreciated, it was unnecessary. I have communicated my thanks directly to Jim, who took my cc info yesterday and expedited shipping, and to @tmanners for his direct involvement.

Looking forward to trying out the stock, perhaps this afternoon. Since I started with precision rifle eight years ago, all the rifles have been mounted in MDT or, early on, MPA chassis (and the lone Tikka T3X TAC A1 that lit the fire). The MCS stock will be different. New is fun.

There was a problem and it got fixed. All good.
