Just picked her up today from the rescue. I've been wanting a dog for over 2 years but with court fights over my son money is tight. Well said the hell with it I'll make it work.
Son is with his mom this weekend so let's me focus on getting her settled in.
Cat is pissed but I don't care.
Cat is the fianceé 's

Hoping to find a French bulldog rescue. If anyone knows of a puppy.

That one looks like it's going to be spunky

My dogs react instantly to the doorbell and wait right there for me to open it so they can see who it is.
Generally it means the first thing someone sees when I open the door is one or two large dog's heads.

I’d be scared too...a 2 headed dog?!

Had to do it

Anyway,
After reading this thread for a while I searched out some lazy dog videos for the kids.
They can’t get enough of owners that have to drag the big dogs that are still lying on the floor to the front door for a walk

How about even scarier..... A large dogs head sticking out from between someone's legs......

Yes if they don't get first view, they will shove their head between your legs to get a look at what you are looking at...

At 10 years old and 13 months and two surgeries after being diagnosed with malignant melanoma Rev's still got game.
THC and CBD treatment every day since the external groin tumor was spotted.

This guy wandered into the Track Maintenance shop Wed night (I work at a casino with a thoroughbred race track). It had been below 20 the 2 days prior. Severly malnourished, raging right ear infection, looks like he lost all but 6" of his tail (frostbite or hunger?) pressure sores.
We took him in, took him to local pet hospital for overnight observation Thursday night. He is back, enjoying a warm bed, plenty of ground chicken and rice or beef and rice ( in frequent small portions) and plenty of attention and affection. We operate 24/7, so he has round-the-clock support. The guys in the shop have started a fund for him to pave his long road to recovery. Looks like he may have gotten hit by a car as he drags his rt rear foot a little and has a bulge in his rt ribs we think is a fracture. Next vet visit, after he gains some strength and trust, is to look at that more closely and get vaccinations.
This is an adult bull mastiff that should weigh 150-170lbs. He is 95lbs.
I fucking hate people.

Look at that happy face.
Great on you guys for caring enough to get him healthy and happy again.

Thanks for saving a creature worth saving! I hate to admit it sometimes, but I care for dogs a lot more than most people!

My heart weeps today. I lost my beagle mix today. She was a stray about 2 years old that showed up at work 11 years ago starving and with heart worms. She has been a wonderful part of our family.

The first picture is of when she showed up 11 years ago. The second picture was from last summer.

Loosing a pet is loosing a member of your family............it is very hard, and we have been thru it more than once. Your pet will always be a good memory............remember the good times........it may take a while, but you may find a new friend someday, or like this one, will find you..........visit a shelter, and you will find many animals that are willing to be your new buddy...........

Prayers for your friend, and your family.......

Seems like each of you touched the other's life beyond words. God Bless!

Sorry for your loss. I know the feeling having lost our 10 year old Rottie to cancer 9 months ago. Got him at 2 years old from a Rottweiler rescue. Still hurts till this day and I don't think you ever get over it completely. The pain does get better with time. We're actually looking at another rescued dog this weekend for possible adoption. Still not sure we're ready yet.

You're never really ready to try and replace a pet.
You just accept them completely on the ride home.

It's just like you don't really pick the dog, the dog picks you.

You might try posting this in the Good Guys with Guns thread. There are some amazing people there that will truly surprise you, and renew your faith in a small parts of the human race.

Came home from a work trip because my wife took 1 of my dogs to the vet... he wasnt acting his usual self. Had him almost 10 yes he was a stray. Rottweiler blue heeler mix.
Instantly became my best friend. This weekend trying to wait out lab tests to see if he has lung cancer or something else. Trying to get him to eat and took him for a short walk he just laid down. Hopefully the meds kick in today and all works out but I have a feeling today will be my last day with him.

So today is going to be tough. Maggie, the black and white dog in the top picture, turned 17 along with my oldest boy 10 days ago. In the picture she is enjoying a t-bone left over from the birthday meal. Today I have to put her down. She has an enlarged spleen and it is time.
The old dog wasn't a great cow dog, but she was a great companion. She has been stolen, lost several times, run over by a full size pickup, had porcupine quills in her nose and more escapades that I just don't recall at the moment.
She never let the motorhome leave without her being in it by my side. She loved going to the mountains and playing in the water.
The little girl in the bottom picture was brought home just two weeks ago. Her name is Daisy. Ironic the timing. She will help fill the void. Very busy pup. The other beagle is a rescue dog we got a few years ago. He is a very good boy. His name is Scamp.
My family is very blessed. Today will be hard as we will say good by to 17 years of a wonderful family member.

We got our daughter a Shih Tzu and my wife liked him so much that I bought her one. Our daughter moved away and all of a sudden we had two of the little buggers. Spike was the white one and Rascal the other. They were my shadows around the farm for 17 and 18 years respectively. Big dogs in little dog bodies. I miss them.

Geez man, he's turning 9... Still looks and acts like a puppy, still healthy. Gets confused as a young dog or a puppy all the time, still. Beautiful setter and boy is he driven. Cat is almost as old and they grew up together. These two never leave my side.

Easily best $600 ever spent. Ever.

Well, after the divorce the ex took my cocker spaniel. I just learned he died Sunday, he was 15 years and 2 months... I miss him so much. I got to see him one time after the divorce when he ran away and came back to me. God this hurts.

Here's his puppy picture when he was only a few weeks old. He's the top one. His nub wagged for a full 15 years nonstop, just like I was promised.
