Suspect's name has been released. Terry Clark Hughes Jr.
No picture yet. But I'm fairly sure it's this same person who was 27, 12 years ago when the article was written. The name release says he's 39 as of today. So......fair chance.
I'll delete if it turns out to be someone else of the same name in the same area.
Man arrested after 115 mph police chase

Here’s the thing, and thank you for locating this older news story about the subject in question. Story mentions one of the charges as being possession of a firearm by a felon. There is more prior criminal history here, violent people need to do hard time and not skid-bids. If this turd of a human being was in prison where he belonged these officer funerals wouldn’t have to be planned. I put blame on the courts and DA’s for allowing these career criminals the ability to remain in our society. This is another tragedy that didn’t need to happen, not Monday morning quarterbacking these people need to remain in prison.
Is there any evidence that the deceased felon had been convicted of anything violent?
All I see on that news article are drugs and running from the police, and they were at his house for a felon in possession of a firearm.
I am not saying he does not have a violent felony history (I do not know), but I do not believe firearms offenses and drug offenses should even be offenses. Crimes and prison should be for those who harm others, robbers, rapists, murderers, kidnappers, thieves, fraudsters, that sort of thing.
