Mask Mandates at Retailers - I have to ask

I have not, because I have not worn a mask (other than to a hospital visit) in months. I walk right by the signs and no one says anything.

Did you even glance at the study you linked, supercorndog?
You can not make an argument that masks stopped the virus. If so the virus would be gone. I said the masks did nothing to stop the virus.

I didn't link any studies, those are articles. I wouldn't expect a leftist to understand the difference though.

Nothing in that article supports masks catching viruses. To paraphrase your copy and paste, that means our conclusion could be flawed because we did not control the variables. As opposed to the study used for the MSN article which was randomized and controlled. Thats not even getting into asymptomatic spread being total bullshit, and therefore masking healthy people also being total bullshit.

1918 called it wants it science back.

The most current data per Osterholm et al is that with no mask natural protection in a covid environment is good for about 10 minutes, and with a cloth mask, that rises to 15 minutes. With an n95 mask, that number rises to 25 hours. This is something I suggested was likely a year ago, that mask quality has more effect than mask usage, and that, in turn, if people started to feel "safe" because of their cloth masks, they were likely increasing total risk by staying longer in covid environments than the masks would add protection. So basically, the answer is, as always, that it is complicated.

I would wear a mask if a store owner asked, because it is his business and property. As I would if a friend asked. I would probably find a different store, in all reality, but not all goods have perfect substitutes.

Don't forget all N95 masks are not created the same. Some are better than others from what I've read.

I don't consider a medical office (eye doctor, dentist, GP, etc.) a "retailer". Eye doctors get pretty close to the patient(s), dentists the same, taking pre-cautions is not out of line IMO.
Even pre covid My dentist and his aid always had masks on. They really do get up close and personal. Plus if he wants to wear a mask due to covid, go for it. Just don’t force me to do the same.

I don't know the exact differences, but I am not surprised to hear that. The main point being that masks are a differentiated product that we are talking about as a monolith. The results seem to reflect a large disparity in effectiveness due to mask quality, which should be rather unsurprising. However, the .gov decided to go with "all masks matter" for some reason, likely for a number of reasons including the relative costs of quality masks. In the long run, I would not be surprised to find out that not only were the vast majority of masks non-protective to a significant degree, but the talismanic use of them given their limited effectiveness may have actually led to more people getting infected overall because they were willing to engage in risky behavior thinking they were protected.

Last and really only place here locally that had a corporate 'mask required' bullshit sign up was a Pet Smart of all places. Had to go and get something I needed for the cat so in I went. Went like this:

25 feet in the door, and still walking

Sir, sir.....sir....you need a mask to be in here.

I keep walking, while turning my head and looking right at the chick and say with a straight face,

"Its fine, I'm special forces'

And just keep going.

I bought one of these the other day...........I'm guessing it covers both the, "mask required", or "face covering required". I haven't got to try it out yet, but maybe the best .99 I ever spent............

When approached by the staff of the San Diego zoo while I was outdoors even and asked to wear a mask, I replied "I have a condition" in a fairly stern voice. The guy didn't bother me further lol

You fucking glowie shills are so boring these days....

Doc

Not even sporting anymore.

In other news...

I wasn't gonna tell this, I don't feel the need to virtue signal. I also don't feel the need to be on yet another list.
Back in the spring, I needed a farm implement, rather expensive one. Specifically I needed a side by side.
No one had the one I was looking cause....ooooh fuckin hell you guessed it, COVID! Yikey yike yikes!
"We just can't get the stock, the factories aren't running full crews." Etc ad bullshittium.

I had already had my fill of wear your mask bullshit. I had long since started refusing to wear a mask. Most of my state had as well.
I drove an hour away to a very large motorsports store.
I walk in, and its an empty shell. Very little stock...but in the far corner...side by sides...numerous.
As I'm walking across this vast tile floor, I see a lone salesman spot me, with terror in his eyes. I maintain my stride as he scrambles to head me off before I can reach the other sales floor.
"Oh hey, uh, what are you looking for today sir?"
(Still walking, I point to the far corner) "I'm looking for one of those side by sides."

"Thats great, sir before you proceed any further, I'm gonna have to ask you to put on a mask, we can provide you with one."
Me: ( as I turn around never breaking stride) "Nope."
Dickhole i hope is still unemployed and penniless: "Sir where are you going?" (Semi yelled into my back)
Me: "Home."
Dickhole: "Um, where do you live?"
Me: "Nunya."
I never turned back around.
Fuck these cucks.

In all the other places I went, and I traveled about 200 miles, to finally make a purchase, not once, was I asked to mask up. Three different states, one store out of 20.
If everyone stood up, this shit would be over.

My circle of trust has gotten a lot smaller.

The Kenyan can have a party with a thousand people and no one wears a mask. Hundreds of pictures of the congressman without a mask until they think that the camera is turning on.
And.... The cucks show up in this thread to show their bent knee at the altar.
If anyone wants/asks you to wear the badge of compliance tell them you have A-F-B. (A Fucking Brain)

This is false, has been false, but is par for the course for any information coming from SCD.

Your sources are a joke.......

This is demonstrably false
The standard mask for use in health-care settings is the N95 respirator,

It just isn’t a thing here. I see a few folks wearing masks occasionally, mostly older people. Now that leaf peeper season is upon us …. holy crud are the maskers out in force in town. I see people staring at me like I have an extra eyeball then I realize they’re wondering why I’m allowed to just wander around unhindered like an actual free person.

My dentist and chiropractor (don’t judge me) I specifically found when we moved here full time because they weren’t masking everybody even though it was the height of the frenzy. My GP is still in our old AO and she sees me via Facetime. She’s the best GP I’ve ever had and I’m loathe to get a new doc here.

When we met with the builder who is going to do our new home here, I asked my buddy who recommended him if he required a mask in his office. He lives in Winston-Salem about an hour away and they are more draconian there, have a mask rule about businesses. I was told if I show up with a mask I’d be asked to leave LOL.

The smell of the carolina mountains this time of yr. Burning brakes on cars with floridiot plates.

No.

I hate face diapers as much as the next person (have to wear one for work in some situations) but that isn't my hill to die on and accordingly I'm not going to inconvenience myself just to have an uncovered face. If the business requires a mask to enter, I'm going to be respectful and do that since I made a CHOICE to put one on and go there.

That said, no retail establishment in my area has required masks for six months.

True respect is earned, not mandated.

I have and it is causing me to change dentists and now eye doctors
I thought I was the only one who was having a run-in with m.d.'s,d.d.s. and the mask b.s. Millenial eye doc started on a rant about my not being vaccinated and that I should know better, since I'm in the high risk group. Confronting him with contradictory evidence about the efficacy of the jab, and therapeutics as an alternative did no good. He really got pissed and walked out of the examination room when I compared fauci to Dr. Mengele. Now I'm looking for a new eye doctor.

When all of this bat bitch flu crap started, I was escorted out of a menard's for refusing to wear a mask. I went to Lowes instead. Menards has since changed that policy. Boycotts do work if enough people can hit them in the bottom line.

It's not even controversial. That mask picture up there is hilarious. Good attitude. But lecturing a store owner on why you aren't going to wear a mask, or telling somebody that you are a bad ass is basically admitting that a shopkeep is so far above you that you consider them the man, rather than somebody like you to whom you show respect because it is a normal, human way to act knowing that they are going about their business the best they can.

I too shop at Petsmart and I get a sideways look when I walk in unmasked, but no one has ever said anything to me.

I will have to use that, it will be pricelss!

So, you are basically admitting that I am so far above you that you consider me the man. "You may go, now" (read in Val Kilmer/Doc Holiday voice).

I don't really consider you at all.

I generally disregard any signs calling for masks, and have only been asked to leave once. Ironically, it was by someone behind a 2" thick piece of glass not wearing a mask in her office "because she works there".

I get numerous people who come into my shop and thank me for not requiring masks as the city says we should.

My Brother and his Wife are both dentists (now retired) and have worn masks their entire career. All of their hygienists and assistants wore masks as well. My BIL is a surgeon (now retired) and has worn a mask his entire career as has all of his support people and surgical assistants. Ya gotta ask yourself why that was since it obviously doesn't work.

In fact, virtually all Dentists and Surgeons and their support people have been wearing masks for decades. Probably because they are all cucks, sheep, or stupid is my guess.

VooDoo
Difference between wearing one when it makes sense, and wearing a dirty one repeatedly all day for no reason.

My dentist didn't wear one to do a simple inspection, but he did when he was going to start working.

Surgeons didn't wear one to talk to you pre-surgery, only when they were in the OR.

I guess that you're OK with not doing anything to stop or protest what is going on with the whole woke society. You, like so many others, are the polluted water that I puke out because you are wearing the gold star.

The star that says hey I'm OK with taking the jab. The star that says hey I'm Ok with putting the jab to children. The star that leads me to the slaughter because hey, they are just doing their jobs.

I would like to think that I helped to get menard's to change the mask policy. More than likely, a lot of others said "fuck this b.s."

I thank God that there are others who are chanting "Fuck You joe biden,"
at football games, and other events. The parents that are fighting the school boards indoctrinating their children in crt, transgenderism, ect. The father who is arrested when he displays his outrage at the rape of his daughter by a x-dresser to a school board and is then arrested.

You really need to open your eyes. Do you even realize how many, here on this forum and others, will probably be put on trial just for what they have said on the Hide? That day is already here, yet you walk with your golden star.......................

Wife and I visited the "new" dentist today and walked away very happy. We will be going back.

Maybe looking around for new suppliers of goods and services isn't such a bad thing. But it could be we all know. In this new era of supply shortages we may be looking to vendors we had never considered before to get what we need and want.
