I recently sold my right hand Armalite AR-50, and thought I was ready to pull the trigger on new .50BMG, but I'm now standing by for more research. I shoot long arms lefty so that is a big decision point.

    Needs...
-Portability, keep it around 25 lbs or less
-Must be left hand shooter friendly
-1MOA shooter capable of eating factory ball ammo

I've been looking at the McMillan .50BMGs, the 98A and Tac-50, and would serve me better because of their standard rifle design. The DTA HTI is also in the running but I'm concerned that in the bullpup configuration I'll be tearing my face up firing it left handed. Any input on these platforms would be greatly appreciated.

personally i think its stupid that a left handed person would fire a right handed rifle. If you have an OOB , you will get fucked up, You will eat everything that comes out of the chamber. A right handed shooter only receive a small portion of shrapnel on the right side of the hand and face , but a lefty will receive almost all of the shrapnel , mostly in their face.... If the bolt handle becomes ballistic , thats another thing you can look forward to.

i'd buy an EDM windrunner over the guns your looking at.

Yup, I should have clarified...the McMillans I'm looking at are left hand models. As a lefty, shooting right hand bolt guns, I like the fact that I can keep my grip/trigger hand in place and work the bolt with my right hand. It's quick.

An OOB is possible but highly unlikely in these platforms. All the time I've got on semi's, where an OOB is more likely to happen, I've never had a problem.

I'll take a look at the EDM. I thought that was a round on bolt single shot gun but was confusing it with the Noreen ULR. Thanks.
