So I wanted to do some work on my .223 bolt Rem. Got a trigger a bit ago and since the stock was coming off figured I'd go with some decent upgrade to save weight. I'm not a chassis fan, so I wanted a "regular" rifle stock. McMillan seemed to have a decent selection and pricing wasn't too bad. The weight of the Edge fill versions is quite something one needs to experience themselves. So the Game Warden in Edge fill with GAP transition showed up.....OMG. It feels like I'm holding a bag of popcorn it's SO f-n light. It scales in at 27 oz. I'm not really digging the darker color of the GAP. I figured it would have a tad more pattern to it, but that is easily fixed if needed. I like it overall. Can't wait to get it trimmed up with the action, maybe some fresh Aluma-Hyde to make it snap.

I have big hands as I tend to need XXL sized gloves, depending of course. Just double checked my "grip" on this stock. You might be close to having a dangler depending on your grip style. I tend to use a hook of the lower three fingers, leaving the trigger fella free. When gripping it without thinking about placement, I'm at the bottom of the grip heel with the pinky finger not slipping off the bottom. If I hold the fingers tighter together it's comfortable and not going to drop the little guy.

Palm swell is just fine for me, not too much at all. I'd suggest if you are on the fence to try to find a local one. If you can find a Seekins Havak I'd say thats the closest best comparison to use.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Kind of hard to know too without it on an action. I know from experience that a stock can feel/ fit different when it's on a rifle.

I like the a3 sporter myself I have two one on a shorty carbon riflewith edge fill one in mcwoody. Perfect stock if you ask me
I was looking at that as well. Need to check with Mcmillan to see if it will work with a Tikka CTR barrel. How is it shooting prone? Do you use a cheek riser?

I do t need a cheek riser, with 30mm low seekins rings and a ares btr 27x it’s prefect. I did have to trim the rail back on my long action to get the scope low enough, on a short action, I doubt you’ll have that problem
