I jumped on an opportunity of a very nice barreled action chambered in 338 lapua improved.
I now realise that I am maybe limited in my choice of cases.
BUT....
Chamber reamer blueprint states that base over the ring is is 0.585 instead of 0.587 or larger. When I bought the rifle, the guy told me he likes tight chambers, but he didnt tell the numbers.
So... does a lapua case will fit in this very tight chamber ?
Hornady 338 case bases mesure 0.582 / 0.581 at 0.002 of the ring.
My first choice woul be to get lapua cases get going.. maybe I just cant, welle hope to discover quick!
Your input and mesures on new cases never fired would be much appreciated.
