Ordered one box of Lapua 6.5 PRC, they shipped it in a bubble envelope, the Lapua box naturally popped open from USPS handling it, half the brass is dented. Called and asked why it wasn't shipped in a box. I was told that they have no control over how shipping packages shipments because it is a different department. They will give me a refund but of course they have no replacements. They obviously have zero interest in improving something that needs improving. I've never had Lapua brass shipped this way.

Take that refund, I suspect they would let you keep the half ruined product too

But yeah, midway shipping sucks a big one and has for a long time. Occasionally you get a nice package and think "hey, maybe they are improving" but then you realized you lucked out with the only person there who cares and the other 99 dont and you get disappointed on the next package when you are scrapping up individual bullets leaking out of the torn box.

no no no I cant right it all again .

just substitute murder porn with what ever is getting under your skin and best of luck

I've always had decent results from a call to their CS. The shipping department may, in fact, be lacking but CS has always made it right. I once ordered some reloading dies and they were double shipped. Got one package on Monday and a duplicate package on Tuesday. I first made sure I hadn't been double charged and then called to arrange a return...I didn't want to keep something I had not paid for. Midway told me that return shipping would not be worth it on the profit line and just keep the extra order. I gave that stuff to a friend and and to a new shooter at my local range.

Same happed to me on some magazines I ordered. I’ve never had an issue with midway customer service

Midway definitely has the worst shipping department of any gun related company I've ever dealt with. Shame on me for using them over and over again through the years.

A box of Lapua brass should be shipped in a box, not a big, minimally padded envelope, period. The guy I spoke with on the phone couldn't have cared less; pure apathy. It was such a stark contrast to the generally excellent customer service I've experienced with most other vendors in this space.

How badly is the brass dented? Like someone stepped on it or minimally from it banging into each other. Post a pic.

If it would help, I will sell you a few of my blue Lapua brass boxes ... they're awesome.

Bummed to hear it. I have a pretty good idea how hard 6.5 PRC brass is to come by...

Way back in their days before the internet, I had bulk bullet and brass orders from them get ruined by poor packaging and the USPS. In those days, they took the responsibility from the USPS and fixed the issues.

The difference was they had something to send me immediately in those days and these days they don't. Their closed loop on shipping/packaging issues comes and goes with the years. They make commercials about their speedy automated shipping. Maybe someone will get tired of claims and close that loop again. Who knows....

Dented mouths? Some body dents?........squashed? On a scale of one to ten, how bad?
Body and mouth dents, some not too bad, others I wouldn't keep. I'm paying for Lapua brass, not Hornady. Doesn't matter, I'm sending them back for a refund. They will get them back in the same shipping envelope they sent them in. I'll likely never order from them again, and I've spent thousands with Midway.

It would not surprise me if they outsource their logistics to incl packing and shipping.

Sorry for the shit posting..

I've not had any issues yet from them.
Lapua brass normally comes in a plastic box does it not?

I’d run them through a sizing die and shoot them. Seems simple.

So you had a problem and they offered a refund. Sounds atrocious.
No, the problem is that I was told that there is no way to request replacement or future orders for Lapua brass to get shipped in a box so that the exact same thing doesn't happen again. How could that be? I guess they are such a big company that they don't care if the occasional customer is dissatisfied and they clearly don't care to improve a process that resulted in the problem. Besides, I need the brass, not a refund. Fortunately, I was able to order two boxes from Bullet Central last night.

Your problem isn't Midway's CS, its needing brass they don't have and can't magically make. You don't "need" you "want" what they can't give you. So you got all pissed off and called someone to bitch them out, in the wrong department. Did you honestly think they were going to tell you, yes sir we will never ship brass in bag again. You were the first one in out experiment and it failed." What did you honestly expect? "Yes sir, your purchase of brass made you the new CEO in charge of shipping and packaging."

I have revived Lapua brass boxes in shipping bags from more than one place. Its not a problem if the shipper doesn't destroy it, which isn't really easy to do. Some places make you jump though hoops when a package is damaged. Midway does not.

I didn't bitch anyone out. I never raised my voice and was extremely polite. I've ordered hundreds of boxes of Lapua brass and have never received one packaged in an envelope. What I expected was some semblance of responsiveness to a customer request that in future orders they ship in a box if I make such a request. Instead, I was told that was impossible. Sheesh, enough with the hyperbole in defense of Midway, I get it, you are a Midway fan boi.

I'm definitely not taking the side of Midway here because I demand good customer service for my hard earned dollar, BUT as someone who lives in the same town and has worked for MidwayUSA...the warehouse hires anything with a pulse. Columbia is a liberal college town, so you can draw a fairly accurate conclusion as to why someone would ship expensive brass in a bubble mailer.

I got to admit if I was working in the shipping department of some business with tons of items to ship and a blue plastic box had to be sent out.....yeah, I'd stick it in a bubble envelope and toss in the bin.

You have ordered hundreds of times from midway and this was the first time what was inside was broken and the contents were spilled? Because that happens to me with stuff in boxes. Yep, printed their shipping label, and got my money back. Same with a cleaning rod they shipped that was bent in half.

LOL. At the Idea that Midway is going to add special packaging instructions to your account.

Sometimes carriers break stuff, that is out of the shippers control. No they aren't going to armor bubble wrap and put something in ten boxes because one time UPS ran one over with a truck. It doesn't make financial sense. They just let a couple Karens walk, until enough do. I think they treated you just fine and you are being bitch, not fan boying for midway.

Your reading comprehension needs work. I never said I've ordered hundreds of times from Midway. I said I've ordered hundreds of boxes of Lapua brass. This was actually the first time I've ordered Lapua brass from Midway. I also never stated that I want special instructions for my account. What I said is that I would like to be able to request shipping in a box if I ordered Lapua brass from them again.

I have ordered from Midway probably 30 times in the last 12 years and never had a problem with any part of any order. Lucky maybe..... I guess?

You guys need to realize he’s from kalispell. 98% chance he’s a California transplant and brought his California ways with him.

I seriously doubt the brass was damaged to the point where performance was affected.

I was born and raised outside of Helena you stupid jackass. I moved to Kalispell in 2003. Are you such an ignoramus that you think 98% of the residents of Kalispell are California transplants? Christ what a fucking moron. What is the old saw about making assumptions? Based upon your avatar quote, life must be brutally tough for you.

Just out of curiosity, anyone else ever get a box of Lapua (still closed) that has some slightly dented mouths? A buddy said he's gotten some dented mouths in an order not too long ago.

Yep. They use to include a packing foam in the lids but it tarnished the pieces that sat in contact for awhile sorta blue so they seem to have stopped doing that and now the mouths dent.

The last three boxes all had dented mouths.

I ran them over a mandrel and then through the dies to make sure they straightened out.

Yeah, in that order.

They got chamfered, loaded and shot.

ADG really sets the standard for brass packaging. Each piece is separated, the top of the inside is thick foam, and the seal is much more robust than the Lapua. I have both brands in 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC and I cannot say that the Lapua is better. In fact, if forced to choose, I would probably have to give the edge to ADG. The case neck thickness is unbelievably uniform.

WAS a Midway customer for years, decades really. WAS is the key word.

My son and I basically share the same name, almost. He orders primers, when in stock, no issues, no waiting six months. I order primers am told, I need to wait six months. I call, say, I have not ordered primers in 12 months, and tried 6 months ago and was told I had to wait six months. Its been six months. Tired to explain that my son orders primers without any waiting period. Asked if there was confusion between us. Told no, but when I asked if I could order primers, I was told I had to wait 6 months. Explained I had not ordered primers in over a year. Told I had to wait six months. (Between orders and I have to wait six months)

Figured I had enough of this keystone cop call and give up. Too many good companies that want my business and are willing to sell me what they have when they have it in stock.

This was the most fucked up customer service call I have ever experienced. Why do I have to wait six months when others don’t? No answer. So now, I NO CALL!

WTF
Never heard such about ANY company. I've NEVER been told I had to wait to buy primers, but then again every time I've tried lately I'm just 30 seconds too late... I have seen where the Hodgdon site limits you to a certain amount of powder per month or something like that.
