Military guys need your help

bought some military ammo for my 308 marked LC on the head. it was belted and had tracers. Would you shoot it out of your guns or not?

I will prolly not shoot the tracers but the other stuff what do you think?

Would be safe in any rifle but would be a waste in a precision rifle. Perfect for a M1A. The ball is 147gr M80. Not known for accuracy but good quality ammunition. TJR

If you have a nice bolt gun I probably wouldn't shoot it. Ball ammo was never ment for accuracy and I wouldn't shoot it in a nice rifle.
Its like buying a Konigs Egg and putting 87 octane in it.

BTW the manufacturer is Lake City (they make good ammo, but see the above post) and there should be two numbers stamped on there also which should give you the year manufactured.

Depends on what you are wanting to put it through.

I personally would never put it through any of my precision rifles. Im picky on what goes down barrels.

Do you know the year it was made?

I've shot some M80 ball that would hold 1.5MOA out of my M110. Not a horrible substitute for when the quality stuff isn't available and you want to send rounds down range. But I've also shot some M80 that couldn't hold 3MOA with a 1 shot group Just depends on the LOT.
