I imagine that is possibly one reason why they are becoming rare, though not yet endangered.
That picture actually throws you off a bit with perception. The males only get to about 11 pounds and the females max out at 20. Note that even though this picture is slightly less so, it still puts the Eagle in the foreground, making it look bigger with respect to a human than it really is.
And this picture shows one when it doesn’t have its headdress feathers out, making it look a lot less threatening.
