Yeah. Issued BDUs when I got to Hurlburt in 85. At first supposed to be for deploynents only, but everyone wore them on a regular basis. I wore fatigues the last day they were authorized. Had chocolate chips and pinks. Think I still have the night desert coat. Looks like first gen digicam. Squeaked by with original blues until I went to the senior academy. Still have my mess dress, but it's probably about 15 pounds too small.

Still have fatigues, BDUs, Chocolate chips, desert BDUs, ABUs and some sweet Crye multi cam. Didn't get scorpion pattern though.

When I got to Kadena, I was the only one in the shop wearing BDUs, I was going to buy ODs, to fit in better, but I was a poor...a real poor: AB. When I went to ALS, I had to buy all new blues, because mine were still basic training issue 4 button, and the kewl kids (I was told) would all be in the new 3 button...it was a lie, but that set of blues lasted me another 19 years, thankfully being a technical career field, I hardly every had to wear the damn things.
When I went to the NCO Academy one of the SMSgt instructors had the tiger strip test uniform, or what ever it was called, that was the one they tried out before the ABUs came out. I thought the pattern looked cool, a throwback to the tiger stripe uniform from Viet Nam.
We were one of the first flights issued BDUs, my field jacket was OD. Thanks for your service ya ol' geezer.
This is what In was issued in boot camp, and wore until the woodland Camo was issued.

Flower Power. In VN we wore tiger stripes. When we needed fresh garments, Flower Powers came off the helicopter. We’d keep our Tiger stripes and hand wash them then exchange the flower powers during the next resupply.
The Tiger stripes were cotton so they faded into a great looking gold then almost pale brown/ khaki on the lighter colors, and dark grey in the black stripes.
Mixed with captured web gear and both types of camo and plane green jungle fstigues we were quite a motley crew.

Yea, I had some of those.....way after basic.
The real uniforms were better in every way.
Tip lads: they were called Sateen Greens.
Could not wear those fuckers out, 40 some years and mine still look like new....and I've used them to work on the farm and on vehicles, construction, whatever.
Like the old commercial 'can't bust em'.
