I wonder how many deployments did Colin Kapernick serve? How many mortar and rocket attacks did he endure? How many times he had to scrape the remains of his buddy's head from the dashboard of a Humvee that had gotten hit by an EFP? How many children have he carried to safety while 7.62 rounds are impacting the ground all around him because the shooters are aiming at these children? How many times his asshole puckered up while conducting roadside checkpoint searches because that woman in a burqa was just about to detonate a suicide vest before a quick thinking NCO head-cavitied her with his M9 before she can activate the trigger? How many times had he had to deliver the dog tags of his friends to their sobbing wives and mothers and tell them that their boys will not ever be coming back home again, all because some goat fucking slipper wearing inbred decided to hit their convoy with a 105mm shell? How many times had he have to do any of these things?

Oh, I forgot... He is a "celebrity"...

For all you A-10 folks - in the last scene where they're firing on the tree line - explain the the sound pattern to me. There's an initial brrrrrrp followed quickly by a second different sounding brrrrrp. I used to do a lot of work at Camp Shelby in south MS and we'd hear this all the time. Asked different folks but got different answers so have never been sure. Initial brrrrp seems like gun firing but what is the second? Sound of rounds impacting, echo of the initial brrrrp????

By the way, totally random, but I think Isaiah's eye passed directly over Brooklyn... It actually got sunny and calm for about 20 minutes, and now the rain and wind is blowing from the opposite direction... Or was it a big gap between the precipitation bands? I dunno but it was interesting...

Peak gusts are about 75 mph, and the steady force is around 60...

Always thought it was the echo.

Loved that sound.
We joked after training that is what it would sound like when we got home and got laid.

I've been told the echo from the firing and I've been told it's the rounds impacting. Heard essentially the same dual sound when they fired the Phalanx during a Forrestal Tiger Cruise. Rounds impacting doesn't make sense in that case but then again can't explain the echo at sea either.

The retail theft happened Friday, July 31 around 4:30 p.m.

Police said the two women, described as an Asian women wearing a sundress and a Black woman wearing a green tank top, selected $55.56 worth of food items and made no attempt to pay. They fled in a white Jeep SUV.

Listening from the ground, near the impact area, one hears first: the impacts, then second the sound of the gun which is way off in the distance. Takes time for the sound to reach you.
I always thought it sounded like the roar of the monster in "Forbidden Planet"! Death is coming!
