Same in UK as well, seems many of those on welfare can 'afford' large TVs, mobile smart phones, games consoles, etc. Whilst those working but on lower salaries cannot, welfare should not be a career choice not to work. However, I do support welfare for those less fortunate.

Same goes for healthy eating as well. You read/see it when they say "I am on welfare and cannot afford to eat healthily", what they mean is they don't want to cook from fresh, they are buying ready meals, alcohol, cigarettes, etc.
