MRAD SMR barrel replacement?

Looking at getting one, curious on the future of them. Do they have prefits? Are the barrels going to be a bitch to replace on the SMR model?
What barrel wrench for the barrel nut?

The SMR barrel is press fit into the receiver. They are not designed to be user replaceable.

That's precisely why I didn't take my buddy up on his offer to sell me his 300NM SMR.

It is stupidly accurate, but I didn't want to have to deal with the inevitable barrel swap. I'm guessing that it would have to go back to Barrett. There is so little information out there available on this though.

If not for the press fitting, a barrel change would be very straightforward with the right wrench.

edited to add I went down this road several years ago and, no surprise, a company as big as Barrett was unable to accommodate any chamberings or barrel lengths that weren’t already standard offerings from them.

That wasn’t a problem so long as it was an off the shelf offering. Things may have changed as this was at least 3 years ago and before their sale to the Australians.

Then it would be safe to assume they followed the Accuracy International business model... and I say that as an AI owner/lover.
