Ive read alot of reviews and im pretty sure these are the pair im going to get. i just have some questions im having trouble finding the answers to. I wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with these.

i mostly want to know if the behind the neck model stays on nice and secure, or if it has trouble staying on. i wont be wearing these with a helmet, so the headband on top model will be fine, just wanted to know.

any additional feedback on these would be much appreciated. im planning on getting the gel earcup upgrade.

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

I've had the neckband model for two years now. I find them to be secure and very comfortable and have used them in several carbine and handgun course at Thunder Ranch without a hitch. The noise reduction is on the low side (NRR 18), but I usually wear earplugs in addition to the muffs.

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

I use the standard "over the head" version and love them. You can extend the band long enough to get over a ball cap no problem, and in winter you can stretch a knit cap over no problem.

Gel cups are a must. When I first got them, my reaction was: these things look fragile and I'm going to tear them first thing. Not true. I now toss them in the bag with no concern.

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

I won mine in a handgun comp and couldn't be happier with a 6th place prize. I had my eye on them from the beginning and find them the best I have owned. Mine are over the top band though.

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

Very, very comfortable. I recently got a set from Steve @Triad, and am glad I finally took the leap. I've used foam plugs of various types, Peltors, Dillons, and Impacts, and these are by far the most comfortable. Pretty much all the others will start to dig my glasses into the side of my head, but these gave me no grief wearing them all day. Highly recommended!

BTW, I got the standard headband version...

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

They stay in place just fine for me (but then I haven't tried jumping around and running an obstacle course with them). Agree with the suggestion of getting the gel pads, they're much nicer than the original ones. Also agree that the noise reduction could be a little more a times so when shooting larger calibres I wear some Surefire plugs underneath as well.

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

If I order them from Triad is MSA going to honor their warrantee in case of needing it? I've heard thet they don't honor it if bought from certain places.

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

If you buy the muffs from an unauthorized dealer, MSA North American will not honor the warranty. Those muffs would have to be sent back to the last authorized MSA dealer, which would most likely be in Europe.

Triad is an authorized MSA dealer and have close ties the the CS dept at MSA.

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

Are you taking orders right now? If all goes according to plan, I'm placing my order through you guys tomorrow for the sordins, gel ear rings, and a badger m5.

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

Steve,

I was just about to order a MSA Supreme Pro-X from another vendor when I found this thread. I am wondering if it is too late for me to get on this deal.

In the meanwhile, I will hold off purchasing unless you can't help me. Sent a PM so if you can email me when the web site is back up.

Thanks!

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

NRR 18 is my biggest concern, I am needing a couple pairs of Quality muffs, but with all the Brakes (Including mine) NRR 18 sounds like Huh ? What ? Excuse me ? Say that again ?

Any feedback on how they Actually work ? is the NRR 18 a conservative figure ? These have all the features I am looking for, and look Sexy. I just don't want to regret it in a couple years.

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

I plan on using ear plugs in conjunction with these. And with the low level sound amplification turned up in the mid range I should still be able to hear voices and range commands. So I doubt nrr 18 is going to be a problem

Re: MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X ear protection

I have had a pair for two years. I'm hard on my equipment and had to change the battery compartment twice because of a defective connection. My experience may not be typical.
