Gunsmithing Muzzle Brake and recrown question

I just got a new LH 700P LTR. As most are aware, the LTR's are moly steel parkerized barrels. I'd like to have a Badger Thruster (or similar) muzzle brake put on it. It seems to make sense to have the factory crown 'touched up' at that time.

Will I have to have the crown refinished to avoid corrosion?

Will I lose any barrel length? I would guess the answer is 'No' since it's just the outside of the barrel that is threaded.

No, the actual crown does not have any kind of coating on it. It is bare metal and will not corrode as long as you put some oil on it if you are not going to shoot it for a long time.

No you don't really have to cut off any of the barrel if you don't want to but you may ask the Gunsmith to re-cut the crown anyhow as he may do a better job than the factory did.
