I recently started shooting a lighter weight rifle than I'm used to and coincidentally it wears a shorter length of pull mcmillan htg as opposed to an A5. My issue arises when I go from shooting off a bench into >.5moa groups and switching to prone I get horizontal stringing groups.

I've competed my fair share with >15lb rifles wearing longer length of pull a5's and never had an issue.

I feel like my issue has to do with bony shoulder/collar bone/sharply tapered trap muscle. There's simply no pocket to place the gun.

Any ideas? Increase length of pull??

Well I found a 1" slip on pad that increased the lop to 14", long story short my groups all came together in a triangular group. Although the gun still recoils erratically. It is a 284 running 175s at 2825 so there's a bit of recoil from the relatively light 10lb gun.

The gun seems to contact my shoulder a bit lower than the a5s.

Is it just time switch it over to an a5 for prone use?
