RRA 20". This was a MOD more than a build. It started as a A2 16" middy that I wheeled and dealed for the parts needed to get a little more range with. I added the YHM freefloat and the 5C2 Phantom F/H and Low Pro gas block. I am trying to figure out how I want to mount the Burris Fullfield 2 4.5-14x42mm OD. 2 piece or 1 piece.

The color coordination was soley because I am just am not ready to tackle a paint job yet. I just can't bring myself to do it. I have an old CVA muzzleloader I guess I could practice on.

Re: My new Yote slayer

Well I finally got a break in the weather I could get out and shoot. It has been off and on rainy here and windy as hell for seems like the last 2 weeks. Today was 65 degrees and light wind. I got on paper at 25 yards and then went out to 100 yards and thats all I could stretch where I am shooting. Barrel was heating up fast and lots of sun so the mirage effect was difficult to deal with but I was able to manage sub MOA 5 shot groups with Remington express 55gr soft points and Hornady 55gr. soft points from my 1/9 factory 20" tube from Rock River. The next time I make it to the farm I hope to see what it can hold on the longer ranges 200, 300 and 400. All in All I am very pleased with the set-up. 20 barrel seems to be noticeably quieter than the former 16" (left my ear plugs out for 1 shot. oops!)

Muley MonoPod custom mounted on BS (needs install)
Magpul MiAd Grip with upgraded trigger guard (on order)

Re: My new Yote slayer

Nice looking rigs and it's good to see some collapsible stocks being used on this application. And when I saw JPOutfitters mention the Muleypod, it dawned on me that style of monopod, that does not offer a fixed leg position would attach to these stocks once the fixed loop was replaced with a stud.

I had not thought of that when requests for the means to attach our PRM monopods to these stocks came up. This is what we came up with, from another thread here; solution.

Re: My new Yote slayer

Thanks Kasey,

I'm waiting for the stud to get here so that I can install that Muleypod.....not sure what Magpul is doing, but my MIAD has NEVER showed up!! I'll post pics when its done.

was just notified that Magpul has the grips on backorder for a few more weeks......I have cancelled the order on that and am looking for another now!

Re: My new Yote slayer

JPOutfitters, let us know how that Muleypod works out for you.

Re: My new Yote slayer

I mounted reverse from how it's supposed to be mounted so that I can do a custom drawstring with paracord to be able to pull the muleypod up into the stock.....I'll post more pics once I get the paracord setup done. I will attach the cord to the sling mount hole on one end and up to the buttstock on the other end with a ripcord of some type.....still haven't figured all that out yet...

Re: My new Yote slayer

rgr that, I figured you had a reason for doing it. I'll look forward to seeing your solution.

Re: My new Yote slayer

Kasey,

I wish I would have seen your mount as that is what I originally wanted to come up with myself.....so I came up with this and we'll see.

Maybe you guys could come up with something like this also! perhaps a different foot on the bottom though....the only thing I'm seing with this one so far is I think it would be better suited with the foot sideways instead of forward/back.....and the ability to lock the foot at the angle you need it and still adjust up/down.....there's a few suggestions for your knob! I think the rounded bottom on all of the other knobs is lacking and I like the bottom foot on this muleypod better....just turned or even a cross shape would be cool too. The rubber sole on it is pretty cool too.....

Re: My new Yote slayer

my first attempt with the ripcord....I ran it up through the CAA storage caps too.....I need to get a reverse threaded nut for holding the bottom foot in place. On carpet, dirt, wood it holds fine and stays in place.....when I attempted to use it on my linoleum (sp) floor it slides around unless I hold the foot tightly.

More to come......

sorry about stealing this thread.....MODS please help move to the appropriate forum!!
