In case anyone is curious about the authenticity of the XM3 parts that Chad currently has on hand, rest easy knowing that he's taking apart my original USMC XM3. Here it is lounging around on Chad's couch:
XM3 titanium base is now fully modeled. Here is an assembly file of it plopped onto an action.
I'll make a couple out of steel or 7075 just to check the fit before I turn the machine loose on 6AL4V. The hard part is over, now its just proramming.
This looks great, I had all but given up on the idea of putting together a XM-3 clone. Maybe not anymore. @LongRifles Inc. Can you do the clip slot cut on a left hand 700 receiver?
