Re: My wife's cooking has gone to shit.

I laughed my ass off because that shit doesn't fly with 99% of Northern women. Then my buddy told me a crazy story.
My friend wanted his wife to use cloth diapers since they are so much cheaper than using disposables. When his wife resisted the move, he "called her daddy and asked him to get on board." Then my buddy's father-in-law calls his daughter, uses some Cajun mind trick, and now she only uses cloth diapers. Will wonders never cease?
Once again, this shit would never work with a Northern woman. YMMV </div></div>
You have correctly identified the cause of this thread.
You might want to nurture your daughters and teach them all this new feminazi crap and about how she can be anything she wants, but some dude is gonna posting about how she can't even cook a decent meal down the road. It's like anything else, without fundamentals you're nothing.
Don't let your daughters grow up to be OP's wife. Make 'em start cooking family meals in gradeschool, seriously. I was doing Wellingtons in jr high as a young man. Woman should be learning the same. Teach them that microwaves can melt butter, but nothing more intense than that.
Mine can't cook or clean anything more than superficial vaccuming and dusting. I continue to put up with the half-assed cleaning, but I took over the cooking because I'm selfish and actually like food. The woman will eat pickles alongside scrambled eggs and coffee for christ's sake... without being pregnant. That said, I'll be damned if I do the dishes after I cook GOOD food.
edit to add: we have this service
http://www.dinnerdone.com/index.cfm around here where the challenged go to what is basically a foods class and bring home the foodstuffs. Some need to be fired still, some are gtg. Maybe you have a similar outfit in Tx. If not, you could start one, for the common good.
