National Museum of the Marine Corps

One word: GO!

I visited last week and the place is outstanding! Admission is FREE as well. Lots of dioramas, history of course, interactive displays etc. etc. When I saw the actual flag they raised atop Mt. Suribachi on Iwo Jima, I got quite choked up...wasn't expecting that! What a piece of history!

If they put a recruiting station in that place I bet there'd be a lot of us former Devil Dogs trying to reenlist! It reiterated for me the fact that I am forever a part of that brotherhood and am damn proud of it.

Went there this past year. Was invited by another member on here that I met through another board. Great place to go.

our whole unit whent through last year after AP hill trainning. i agree its a great place. they were working on a GWAT (iraq, afghan) display last time i was there did they finish it?
