I never pass up a chance to shoot a match in a hurricane.

Tell range control if any of them even looks like they're thinking about closing the range, I'm bringing a whole bag of Tennessee nutkicks to pass out.

Taliv, yup... until it starts raining and then you will still need it. Your a Norsman...
If the storm slows down even a little I will see you there... If I get done at 10 am I could be home by 2 PM

Thats the key to this I am seeing.

Shooters,

We will do a range safety brief @ 0800 SHARP.

We need you with all gear, rifle ammo the WHOLE LOT at the base of the tower by 0750am.

After range safety brief we will go HOT and be done ASAP. We are not rushing the match but like in the first post it goes fast.

IF you show up late, you will miss the match. We will not have time to stop and start all over again just for you.

See you all in less then 24 hrs.

Looks like I'm headed to walleyworld to pick up a poncho or something. If anyone has a tarp, the inside of my car would appreciate you bringing it

UPDATE!!!!

Lets do all situations that face us:

WORST: Cancel match due to EXTREME safety issues: this will be done at that time on the range. Anyone on site will get a refund mailed to them unless you paid cash.

BAD: Range does not operate do to water or wind resets targets: We will place steel in 200yd increments and have a fun day of high wind, rain steel shooting.

OK: we start the match at 0800 SHARP finish and the storm does not let us shoot on open range time:

Best: All goes to plan.

Bottom line: Trace Armory Group's staff will open the range. We will keep an eye of the situation for the day and adjust as needed. a hurricane 300miles away will not stop training. nor will rain or high winds. It can make us adjust for the situation.

so lets see if your PDA's are water proof and if your programs are worth a crap at 40mph winds guys.

Man I wish I could attend this, it just doesn't work with my schedule. Not many people can say they've shot in a hurricane.

Wanting bad to shoot this match, but we would have to leave home about 4AM and the weather appears to not be cooperating. A short drive I don't mind, but 3.5 hours makes it tough. Thanks for your efforts and hopefully we get to the next match.

for all you that missed this, you missed a great time. After the match we shot steel out to 1000yds.

Yep... I had a great time. After the match I made a first round hit center mass at 700 yards on an I think it was an idpa sized steel. Then I was able to hit ivans consistently out to 800. This was the first time I'd ever had the chance to shoot varying distances out that far for like an hour without interruption with a spotter! Was able to get my rifle dialed in perfectly. I was the guy shooting the modded up 5r. Loved it! Very educational!

This was a great match. A huge thanks to John, Rob and Glenn(sp?) for putting on a great match. I'm looking forward to the next one.

If anyone is on the fence, sign up and come out to the next one. If you're new you will learn a ton (speaking from first hand experience).

I enjoyed shooting with you guys. As always, a great bunch of shooters. The scores were muuuuch higher than the last match and given the conditions, that's saying a lot.

Ringing steel at 1000 was outstanding! Thanks for setting that up and thanks for spotting for me. Popped my 1k cherry!

was a fun match! and the wind did not disappoint! there were some serious gusts. fortunately, we were right outside the heavy rain band. wet, but not soaked
