Out west, but not too far west
If my 6.5 - 20 Swarovski is calibrated for the mildot at 10X, that means I use 10X for ranging targets, etc.

When I turn the power to 20X, are the dots are still to scale for bullet drop? Example: I have a load that drops 4 mils at 500 yards (or whatever). At 20X, do I still use the bottom dot and fire?

Can someone point me to a place where I can read up on mildots?

Re: Need help with a mildot question

They no longer subtend 1 mil, i believe they subtend 1/2 mil at 20x and 2 mils at 5x.

I could be backasswards, one of the reasons I went FFP.

What fdkay said. Keep in mind that the numbers on the scope (5X, 10X, 20X) may not necessarily be exact, so you would want to check that on the range before relying on it.

Ordered mine from Neil at cameraland. He said "mildot" if its not a mildot, I'll send it back.

No...the mil dot values will be different at every power setting.

The way you would use this scope is to range the target on 10x and take the shot using the dots, or dial in the elevation and use whatever power you like.
