I am looking at 2 scopes

one is the SS 10x42
the other is the bushnell 6500 2.5-16x42

The bushnell will cost me around 100 bucks more

This will be mounted on a Savage 10fp with HS stock.

I will be using it for target shooting at all ranges and also hunting (deer, coyote.....)

what are the pros and cons of each?

Thanx ahead of time

Re: Need help with optic choice

SS10x42 great for a starter tactical rifle

NOT so good as a hunting scope.

for your intended uses, I would go with the bushnell

Between those two I'd get the 6500. I have one mounted up right now that I'll be playing with this week some time if my schedule holds out. I'm impressed with it so far based on all my non-live fire testing.

Bushnell variable power.Super sniper fixed 10 power. Now think about this. The biggest buck you have ever seen in your life sneaks in on you all the way to 25yrds.Put the crosshairs of that fixed 10x on him or should i say try to.imo.your chances will be slim to none.........Go with the bushy....
