finally found a lvsf barreled action in 308, here is the kicker it has a one piece talley optic base jbwelded to the action with screws intstalled. It has all been cerakoted.

Anyone have any opinions on getting the base off the action. I am thinking per jb that it can sustain 600' F, and the cerakote a bit more, thinkn bout heating it up trying to get the screws to budge then pulling them then knocking bases off.

Or Am I going to fail , just let the seller keep it. The optic base and rings are one inch or I would just leave the damn thing.

It doesn't matter if he did, that's the reason for the heat. Gluing the base to the action is common practice, increases rigidity and the overall strength of the receiver/base assembly.

Even if he didn't apply release agent to the action a wire wheel can strip JB off quickly. The Cerakote on that area of the action is going to be ruined when the base is removed anyway, so stripping the action clean with a wheel isn't going to matter much.
