New build log.. replacing a 452 stock

I've been wanting to replace the stock on my CZ452 (17HMR) for sometime now. I purchased a 10/22 stock in the Anshutz shape as a donor.

First thing was opening up the rear tang area for the action..

With the Action in I marked the level inside.

Using electrical tape wrapped around the barrel I made sure the stock and action were parallel.

two seconds on the belt sander had the rear tang area shaped..

It's going to need a lot of filler..

but you get the idea..

My suggestion about all that filler would be to glue in filler blocks that nearly complete the filling process. Make sure they're below flush with the bottom, so the filler's exterior will appear more uniform. Large thicknesses of resin fillers should be avoided wherever possible.

Continued the shaping of the tang area of the stock and cut out for the bolt..
