I was out early this morning and as it was still I thought I would try a couple of things I have been thinking about.

First experiment was to try my homemade Shoot-n-c targets. They worked perfectly.
Then I wanted to see if I could take a picture through the scope with my phone camera - Another good result.
Tried the same through the range finder - Not bad.
Then tried to take a video through the scope.- Not bad again.

This has spured me on the make up a suitable bracket to fit the phone to the scope so I can slip it on and off and record what Im shooting, using the phone screen for aiming.

The rifle is a .22 Voere semi-auto with Parker-Hale moderator. The ammunition was Eley Sub-sonic Hollow point. The range was 96yds. The target is an A4 sheet. The 4 groups all measure under .7inch. The rifle is zeroed at 60yds - The drop at 96yds was 7 inches.

The phone is a Samsung galaxy 2

Re: New ideas - Very promising.

I saw someone at a gun show a few months back selling something like this. I think they were wanting $50 for one... I thought I saw a post here about them a while back also.

I think HERE's the thread WTW is referring to.

www.theiscope.com </div></div>

The shot-n-c target was made of a single sheet of A4 white paper then laminated. Spray one side with black paint and off you go.
I only used paint I had available, I tried 4 different paints, they all worked but the best one I found was a general purpose, all surface silk finish black.

The phone camera idea was just a try by holding the camera up to the scope to see if it would work - As was mentioned in the earlier thread there is a problem with eye-relief with a scope.
I had never seen the earlier thread as this is the first time I have visited this section of SH.
I had another go yesterday and I now know the system works and the image quality is very good with my android galaxy phone.
It took me about an hour to make up a basic fitment for my scope out bits of household junk. Here's my second go.

Re: New ideas - Very promising.

Well it looks like I have just spent a weeks thinking time re-inventing the wheel - What I have made is another I-scope, maybe not so pretty but it works just the same. A couple of bits of plastic and a cardboard tube. I thought I was onto a real winner there.

Oh well - back to the drawing board
