Hello to you all. I have been shooting at longer ranges for about 18 months.
I recently began to harbor doubts that my long hits were mostly the result of excellent equipment; that I was lacking the consistency that spoke of a good understanding of the sport.
While down for surgery, I joined and have watched many lessons.

I'm happy to report that my fundamental skills were all flawed and I have to essentially start over ; )

I'm glad because now I have a path to follow and I am going to be setting up my rifles again and building on a solid platform from here on out.

I'm very pleased that the lessons are so professional; I have a hard time sitting through videos that drag and drone on, or start with silly intros and clickbait.

Rifles:

AR10 in 6.5 CM with JP barrel (will be getting a new scope for Xmas hopefully)
Mausingfield in .308 in MPA chassis with Nightforce 5-25 ATAC F1
AR15 in .223 with 10x fixed Mil/Mil scope

Range:

Piru, CA - 1000 yards

This sport is full of people pursuing excellence - I'm happy to be here and happy there is so much to learn.

Welcome, I am serving my sentence in SoCal, out by death valley. I keep trying to crawl towards Nevada but they grab me and drag me back.

Yeah, these invisible lines in the Desert make a big difference for us in this sport. I was talking to a friend in Texas recently about the best muzzle brake. He reminded me that he doesn't need one as he has suppressors on his rigs. Must be nice.......
