New M40

Snagged this today. SPS barreled action bedded into a substantially reworked Gunville M40 stock. Steel Remington buttplate, Wichita swivels, Turner NM sling. Optic is the Leupold M40 custom shop 3x9 sitting in a Badger repro mount.
Eventual plans are a Douglas tube and, if I can find one, a 6 digit action. Otherwise I'll have this action trued up with the Douglas. Not a 100% clone by any means but.....fun.
First 3 sighters at 100m today. No groups went over .7 for 5rds (with an absolutely terrible factory trigger. That's the first change)

That barrel looks looooong. Nice boomstick. Not sure why you would rebarrel if that group is indicative of how well it shoots.

26 inch factory tomato stake haha! Spec is 24 with a flat crown. I do plan on having it trimmed.
As far as the barrel swap, I'll shoot it as is for this year.

Decided to have some work done. Getting pillars and full marine tex bedding plus a Lilja barrel at 24 total with a flat crown. Reciever will be trued up as well. Found an early tombstone safety trigger and factory bolt shroud will be shortened.
