First off, thank you to all the guys that were able to come out this AM to do some range maintnance. The steel range looks really good after a lil grooming.
Once again Jimmy (aka The Mad Scientist) comes through for the club. I couldn't even begin to guess how many man hours went into this moving target system. Jimmy went above and beyond with this project. Vinny Da Hook with Invincible Safes (http://www.invinciblegunsafes.com/) was gracious enough to supply key materials and components to make this project possible.
Thank you guys!
Specs:
Variable Speed: Top Speed is about 4.2MPH, but we have it set to 3mph to 3.2 mph.
Remote on and off/start and stop.
Load Capacity: Enough power to carry any target we wanted.
System would have to be portable.
Charge batteries without removing them.
One other cool feature Jimmy built in is a target plate (LV Steel Targets 7" Popper) that will start the mover for a set amount of time when hit. Once the time runs out the mover will stop automatically.
I will let the videos and pics speak for the rest.
Jimmy and Vinny.
Some pics of the internals.
Powered by two 12 volt RV batteries.
