I'm looking at getting a new Progressive Press, There are several out now, Dillon, Hornady. Thoughts, comments. I'll be keeping the big stuff on the Rock Chucker, but 556 and 45 and 9mm will be on the new one.

Hornady LnL. You get at least the features of the Dillon 650 for the price of a Dillon Square Deal, and the press is solid as a rock and well made. If you absolutely must have something blue, get the Hornady and paint it.

I guess I'm a "blue" advocate, my Dillons have served me well without any problems for many years now . I've had a 650 and a 450 mounted to my reloading bench for around 15 years or so. I just don't think I could be much happier with anything else. With that said, just last week I added a red press to my bench. A Co-Ax, not the other red press ;>).

I have run them all...550, 650, SDB, Lee.
I currently have a LNL AP. Its the best bang for the buck.

One thought to keep in mind is how much it costs to change cartridges. Those conversions can be right pricey, and then there are the primer system changes.

Single Stage Redding w/ the Hornady Lock n Load bushings.
Lee Turret Press for cannon fodder and pistol ammo.
I have a Dillon 650XL sitting in the corner. Costs too damn much to convert it and I haven't needed to load .45 in a coons age. Someday I'll have time to screw with it.

I do 5.56, 9mm, & .45 on my 450's. Have 2 of them and am willing to part with one for about $275 + actual shipping with both L & S primer assy's, Dillon powder drop, and one caliber conversion from the above listed calibers..

I've been using a Dillon 550 for about 15 years. I load 9,45, and 223 on it.Caliber change is easy,and they are gaurenteed forever, no questions asked.

I have 3 300's a 550 and a 650 plus a Star. For the $$'s I would go with the 550 due to it's simplicity and cost of conversion units. I use my 650 for 223 based cartridges (204, 20 tactical, 223 and 6X45) but do short runs of other cartridges on the 550. I do some single stage stuff using AA Turrets that I have set up for various operations.
My 300's are dedicated to 45, 9MM and 38 Special.
