Just finished putting together a new RPR. This is my first Ruger. I have been nothing but Savage in the past for rimfire rifles and had great success. After much debate I chose the RPR over a Savage MKII FVSR. I will leave out most of the factors of the decision making process. One of the main reasons was the adjustability of the chassis as I am now teaching my oldest boys to shoot. I have about 500 total rounds through this rig and am VERY happy I chose this rifle.

Rifle specs:
Ruger Precision Rimfire 22LR
Stock 30MOA scope base
Vortex medium height rings
Bushnell Nitro 5-20X44 Deploy MOA reticle Caldwell bipod
I have about 70 moa travel in my elevation turret and 25 moa on the reticle. Next testing will be the optic. Tracking, reticle accuracy, etc. I got the scope on sale for $199 with no tax and free shipping (Camera LandVery happy as of now, further testing required before I am confident enough to stretch it out to ELR distances.
Ammo tested today, 5 shot groups, 50 yards. CCI standard velocity
Federal GM match
Federal Black 38gr 1260fps
CCI Stinger
CCI 45gr suppressor
CCI polymer coated target 1235fps
CCI standard velocity 40gr HP 1050fps
Aguila HV copper plated 40gr 1255fps
Aguila SV lead 1130fps

I will update thread as testing continues. CCI SV performed well. Had higher hopes for the HP equivalent. Aguila was the surprise of the day for me. I will be ordering more for sure. Far right flyer on CCI polymer target was me.
Early indications are I got a good shooter. I am very happy with the results to date.

Nice! Thanks for sharing.

I actually picked up the RPR myself today. So, I’m looking forward to future posts here on your results.
I’m going to spend some time researching scopes for this so that I can start getting some .22 on target.

This seems like a well built rifle to get started with.

I am really happy with this one and the results to date. Hard to beat for the money spent. Will provide hours of fun for me and the kiddos out shooting.
