Savage added several models this year. Been looking at the site as they slowly update them. Full catalog is not out yet but here are some notable changes I have seen.

No more model 10FP. It is now the 10FP-SR (Suppressor ready). Comes with a threaded barrel and looks like it only jumped the msrp about 50 or so bucks.

Model 10 predator max is now being chambered in 260 Rem and 6.5 Creedmore. Both have 1-8 twist rates.

260 Rem is also being offered in several hunting rifle configurations.

Several new rimfires. Model 64TR semi auto in a Boyds tacticool with a msrp of 315. The bolt action TR's are now coming in SR models as well.

Re: New Savage models

It sure seems Savage continues to lead the way as far as innovation and chamberings in the factory offerings. Pretty cool to see them adding more .260s and a creedmore. Now all they need is to throw in a 6.5x47, just for the hell of it.

Re: New Savage models

i think they have a 6.5 offering in 6.5x 284 in the palma. but if you call them, i bet they will chamber what you want.

brett there is a post here with all the new models. it was a savage press release. ill see if i saved it

Re: New Savage models

Re: New Savage models

Savage is working their way to the top of the hill for production guns. If Remington had taken half the risks savage has in the last 5 years they would be unstoppable

Re: New Savage models

Looks like savage didn't want to be outdone turning the 10-FP(which is a great stick to begin with) and making it threaded for a suppressor/muzzle brake to mirror Remy's 700 AAC-SD model....IMHO the more the merrier;)

There is also a new 10PC with a 20" threaded and fluted medium contour barrel with 5R rifling and 11.25 inch twist. It is model # 19057.

I am not sure if it is on the web site yet, or ever will be, but I know they are out there as I have held one. It is just like the standard 10PC except for the barrel.

These are limited builds for 2010. Found one though and just purchased, if it is anything like the one I have in 24", it will be a real shooter.

Re: New Savage models

Man oh man... that 10PC 5R is just the ticket for me. That is what I have in the plans to snag, should Uncle Sam be nice enough to me.

I still haven't ground to a halt yet on the glass for it though. I do intend to put a can on the thing possibly later on in the year.

Re: New Savage models

I'm glad to see they brought out that 64TR. I wanted a 64 when they used to make a heavy barreled version. It's great that it's already threaded as well. I'd love to see how it does compared to a 10/22 or 597.

Re: New Savage models

The full catalog is online now.

Savage has done a great job the last few years keeping tabs on the market. And they build super accurate factory guns. It equals a lot of success and they're eating up a ton of market share.

Re: New Savage models

Ponies,

So is the barrel profile the same as the PC?? It looks like the profile is a bit smaller... might just be an illusion to me.

Nice looking rig Bro!! What kinda specs is that thing producing?? Inquiring minds would really like to know!!

Re: New Savage models

I believe it does have the same barrel profile as the PC except for the fluting. So far it shoots FGMM very well. I've got 100 rounds of FGMM through it so far and it is averaging about .65-.85 MOA @ 100 yards - 5 shot groups. Cold bore shot consistently lands about 3/4" low @ 100. I think it will shoot better viced in, I only shoot off a bipod with my off hand for rear support. It doesn't like American Eagle at all, around 2 MOA with the cheap stuff. I'm testing a load this weekend of 168gr SMK over 42.7 grains of Varget, 2.8" OAL. I think it should compare to the FGMM, I'll find out soon.

Re: New Savage models

Don`t you think that it is ironic that the gun companies that were on top 15 years ago are now out of business or on the bottom. And the ones that were on bottom are now on top.Savage has made a long pull annd should be proud!

Re: New Savage models

Tested out the rifle at 300 yards today with a 168gr SMK over 42.7 grains of Varget. It was about 12 degrees out with a 10-15 mph wind. There was probably a foot of drifted snow over the range and judging by the footprints, the only thing that had been here since I went out last week was a deer which had bedded down next to the bench. The access road to the range doesn't get plowed so I got to haul a drag bag with 2 rifles, a couple of target stands and my spotting scope bag about a kilometer and a half through the snow drifts. Fun stuff. If I wasn't also a snowboarder I might be wishing for spring right now.

At 300 yards with FGMM and my handload off a bipod using off hand for rear support. Barely under 1 MOA but I'm sure the rifle can do better than this.

Sounds good Bro!! I have my eye on the 10PC original. I have a good line on one right now, and I will be putting the additional funds to some reloading gear. Looks good man, I am happy for you that you got a good shooter!!
