Lets just totally feminize this whole site. We can even have a forum dedicated to feminine hygiene products.

How about a board that is dedicated to gun control? We can show the world how inclusive we are and tolerant of what we may believe are sick and twisted people and ideas, but we tolerate, and yes even embrace them!!! I'm sure the feminine hygiene products, sewing, beauty aids, etc would all come up in their discussions, however; we must insist that No bitch slapping will be allowed.

"What a fucking joke". I couldn't have said it better myself. You want to talk fitness and diet then there is a section for that. It is important but a whole section on cooking is not needed. This is a gun site in case you forgot. Got nothing to do with being a manly man. I cook but this isn't a cooking site. It's about keeping the site's reason for being here on point.
All the other sections I would dump if I could. I think it's a sad state of affairs that a thread about girlfriends is the top posted here. We got the Bear Pit and Maggies Drawers for all the bullshit. We don't need more non gun related sections. For sale section is a good part as we all need to sell and but guns and gun related things.
do you know what keeps people coming back here, it's the diversity of this site. It's the fact that a guy who loves shooting and the shooting sports has a place to go with a plethora of knowledge but yet can discuss just about anything with like minded folks, hell watch the shoutbox on any given day, stroll through any of the "non gun" topics on any given day, they are red hot with non gun activity. It's sorta like your local favorite gunshop, can you honestly say youve gone in there and NEVER ended up discussing some off gun topic with the shop guys you've come to know?
Like I said, it was just an idea that sounds like a perfect fit for the "team room", if it's not wanted here no sweat off my balls.

And that's why the shout box and the other non gun forums are here but keep adding more and more specialized forums when there are plenty of places to post what you want and it will overtake the real reason for this site. The reason the site was here for the 10 years before you got here. The site has been growing and growing and not because of nude girlfriend pics and BS posts but because this site is the pinnacle of long range rifle sites and anyone wanting info from not just people who know what they are doing but actual company owners and industry professionals. This site should keep it's professionalism and not turn into a local gun store. There are plenty of other sites like that around that don't share the level that this site has accomplished.
Yes it's not my site but it's not yours either. Sorry I take any attempt to possibly ruin a site I have been on for over a decade and moderated for about 6 or 7 years a little personal because it is. I hear you too, VJJ, with what you're saying and your intent. I too will chime in here and add though, that from what I understood for some years now, is that Maggies Drawers Bar and GRILL (heavy on the GRILL) is the place for stuff such as that. That was the intent from the beginning. And yet, the main focal-point of that forum has been humor(?) and nudity.
OK, fine. I have been a part of that too, so I'm not saying a word to that. But bringing this back to the point at hand, it is up to US to make this place what we want. I know for a FACT, that myself, Switchblade, RJW, and others have posted recipe's and cooking process' in that forum.
My main perspective of the task, is that almost anyone (and most of us) can go out and bag an animal. Ok, now that it's down, dressed, and skinned, what does one do with it? There is no 'magic supermarket' out there in the bush to turn your new protein into those convenient packages. Nor is that game genetically altered, grain fed, and corral kept to tenderize the meat and brighten the fat. So what do you do?
Broiling, grilling, frying, smoking, drying, crock-potting, tandoor'ing and even sous vide has been discussed there. It's just that the majority of the animals that frequent the place are only there to get away from their ol' lady's, and are not nearly as interested in bettering themselves. Ridicule and debauchery is quite often the rule of the day.
Ask any cop, in any city, where the 'action' is,,,, and you'll see what I mean.
So again, it is up to us, the inhabitants of this place, our own corner of civilization, and our bastion of independence,,,, to make of it what we will. Frank calls this "self-policing", right?
