My "go to" place online for reloading components has a new style of ordering. When you hit the purchase button after loading your cart, it tells you theres a hazmat fee and shipping will be added after you authorize the purchase,(Just trust us). My shipping for fedex ground from AZ to TX was $36 plus 27.50 hazmat. I have learned and I'll now be supporting my local economy as with the 8.5% tax I'll be breaking even and avoiding the one hr round trip to the fedex center because they wont leave hazmats at your door and they wont deveate from delivering at 08:30 in the GD morning!

I think around 20(8lb H4350, 500 Scenar 139, 1K CCI BR-2s) They consolidated the scenars into plastic bags, combining them all in 1 of the blue Lapua boxes. I guess theyre going to start selling those later. That pissed me off too!

Ah yah, I was placing an order the other night for 4895 & 168's when I got to the "Suprize" total at the end.... oh hell no... forget that stuff... CANCEL NOW. Not a fan. Hope they catch a clue and disclose the full price at the time of placing in the shopping cart.

Yeah, I think I know the site you guys are talking about.. could never get myself to trust them adding the shipping after the order is placed....

Re: New style ordering at my previous reloading store

I prefer to buy all my firearms-related products from my local FFL. The price is the price, period, with the standard local sales tax added. I can pick it from the shelves then, or order it for pickup in a week. My dealer's prices are very reasonable, and it pays in my mind to ghelp him stay in business, so he'll still be there in the future when I need him.

...And theres also that intangible advantage of being able to deal with him eyeball to eyeball, handshake to handshake.

I have only ever dealt over the Internet once or twice, and I only do so when my dealer suggests that's a better course for the thing I want because his distributers can't provide it at a price that allows him to beat the other source. That sort of business practice is getting harder and harder to find these days. He will continue to get as much of my business as he can handle.
