New to Me LR-260 needs a good set of Iron Sights..

I recently purchased a DPMS LR-260 upper on a TM billet lower from a friend. My initial plans for it are shooting steel plate matches in SC and busting a few Ground Hogs at distance.

So, I need a good set of Iron Sights for the matches in SC. One friend has mentioned the KAC-600 that he uses on his Grendel but I am wondering if this is my best choice for this 260 REM cartridge. Is there a rear sight set designed for the .308 that could maybe be used for the 260 Rem in the LR-260 platform? I am looking at buying the LMT front clamp on sight.

As a side note I think I got a great deal on this rifle but would like your opinion. The rifle came with a RRA MN trigger and a BCM Gunfighter charging handle. The barrel is SS 24" heavy version. The stock is a standard A2 butt stock. I am supposed to get a second mag with the rifle and it shoots great. I paid $800 for the complete rifle.

I really like the LMT rear A2 sight. It is windage and elevation adjustable and is rock solid. Down side is that it wont fit underneath a scope.

Well I know my friend got a (5 for) deal on the receivers awhile back and I really have not priced the DPMS LR-260 upper much less a complete rifle. This is my first AR-10 type rifle. I have a 6.5 AA Grendel AR and a 5.45x39 Adams Arms AR but I am new to the AR-10 platform. I know most iron sights are set up for the .223 or .556 round, are there any sights out there that are designed for the 7.62/.308 that will maybe work adjustment wise with the 260 Rem cartridge.

I shot the rifle before I bought it. It had a 8x32 power Sightron target dot scope on it then. The rifle shot holes touching at 100 yards with the 139gr Scenar running at 2750fps across my Chrony. So yes, I know it is accurate and from that stand point alone I think I got a smokin deal from my buddy but I am not sure how much of a deal $$$ wise. The used rifle market can be wide ranging. I probably could have bought the scope for $450 but it is a beast of a scope. I still might buy it when I get the cash.

One other thing, is Lapua brass worth the cost in the LR-260?
I hand load a LOT of different calibers and cartridges and know the quality of Lapua brass but does it really make the difference in the LR-260 format? I love it in my Grendal but $1.00 each is kind of steep if it is only going to last a 3-4 shots.
