I've read snipets of good/bad, just wondered if anyone who's read it thought it was worth the hardcover price.

I was underwhelmed with Red Rabbit, then it seemed he dropped off the face of the earth for a long period, just lending his name to "Net Force" and other straight to paperback, forgettable books.

I figured he'd made enough money on his earlier successful novels or maybe got writer's cramp and couldn't think up any new material.

Thanks for any reviews if you've read it!

Re: New Tom Clancy Book - Reviews?

I just finished my copy, and it wasn't one of his greatest. Though I will say, there was a line of interest as well as a definite "train of thought" that more should be aware of.

No, I'm not giving anything away. I just think he did so much better with the 'leading up to something big, and then surprise you' in the past. This one seemed to be more of a "television commercial" between two much better books. Now we just have to wait for the other of the "two".

Re: New Tom Clancy Book - Reviews?

I just finished this book today. I thought it was kind of a let down. He could have cut it down about 200 pages and it would have been better. The plot was pretty good, and it had a good ending. But it took way too long to get there.

I have read most of his books, but this one was a bit of a disapointment.

I agree, it had a kind of big build-up, and the ending was good, but I was not that impressed with it. No RSR or Sum of all Fears. Not a bad book, but I wish I had just read RSR again. It's been 15 years since I read it, probably be fresh to me now.

Re: New Tom Clancy Book - Reviews?

I was excitied to buy this book and tried to get into it. But the little details Clancy is usually so perfect at were off. I'm beginning to think he didn't have any part in writing it, even a small one. The current trend of co-authors is a big scam. See the latest Clive Cessler books...
